I know I can't be the first person to do this, but I'm trying to roll the IRON Army from Sgt. Savage into the Iron Grenadiers. Or rather, I think the IG are Destro's personal guard within the Iron Army. I've been playing with trying to combine the two faction symbols.

Does the lettering actually read as IRON or does it just look like TRON?

Is it better with or without the lettering? I wanted to copy the stylized lettering of DESTRO's name in the IG symbol, and I kind of like it, but I feel like a lot of GOOD faction symbols don't actually have the name plastered across them.

Neither is final, I think I want to shift it more to the black/red/gold of the IG symbols.

Any thoughts?

Follow up question, has Iron Klaw from extreme ever been associated with the Iron Grenadiers? Given his mask and coloring, I've been thinking that for a long time but I can't remember if that was incorporated into comics or something, or if I'm just basing that on the club using the Destro body as his base. Wondering if I want to incorporate the SKAR skull into the shield now...

i like the one with the word, but it does look like a T at first glance. maybe straiten the word so it doesnt bow like that. make IRON kook like the guard of the dagger. i affixed a destro head to a real dagger as a pommel, that might be another way to tie the symbol back to ig.

and i just thought of this. if the "edge" of the blade (tip included) was a gold line it could denote the IG as the "tip of the spear" best of the best.

I like it without the wording. Symbols work across languages and can strike fear with just one glance at the logo.

That's how I'm leaning, I got attached to the lettering trying to recreate the look of DESTRO in the IG logo, but I think it fits in with the other logos better without it.

I read it as Tron. My vote is to skip the lettering.

Without words just looks better. It feels like a sword behind a shield.

How about the word 'IRON' vertically on both shields? Then it could be like a splinter group that broke off from MARS/Iron Grenadiers to form the Iron Army under General Blitz.

The serifs do make the I read like a T, especially since the text is warped.

My suggestion is to encase the word "IRON" inside of the shape, using a blocky sans-serif font. You might be just a font change away from nailing this.

I saw TRON, too, at first.

I’m not aware of any media where the IG and SKAR are together. There was a canceled comic pack that had Iron Klaw training CGs.
