#88 SAW Viper

First introduced in 1990, the SAW Vipers - one in particular - turned out to be the most violent of all Cobra specialists.

In the Every Joe project, I'm either creating my own version of the characters or picking my favorite existing version to illustrate. I never cared for the ARAH version, or its colors. The New Sculpt SAW Viper, on the other hand, is really an overlooked gem. Sure, it's a repaint of Rollbar topped with a SAW Viper helmet, but it's a fantastic figure. My choice to represent the character in the project.

Never understood purple SAW vipers. Purple is generally COBRA's science color, could never figure out how to make SAW vipers work as science/tech troopers.

The red details make them looks little too similar to Scrap Iron for me, but that version is a great choice to work off of, and the pose looks great.

Exactly.

Not only did the purple make no sense, the chaps came off as a bit too bondage-adjacent. The strange helmet is just enough weird to sell the character as a Cobra soldier.
