Can't find the latest MOTU wave in stores, even though brickseek lies and says they're in stock nearby, so having some fun making some customs. As a kid, after Moss-Man came out, I always thought they should re-release Beast-Man as a flocked figure. I don't have the SDCC flocked Moss-Man but I have my own custom, flocked with model railroad scenery, I made from a Beast-Man before the SDCC figure was even announced. So I decided it was time to try making my own flocked Beast-Man*. He needs a bit of touching up, after seeing bare spots in the pictures, but for a first attempt with this flocking material, I'm pretty pleased.
Behold: Fuzzy Beast-Man! I flocked his orange fur, the red/burgundy fur on his harness/mane, and his blue fur diaper.

*I initially typed BM but just before I hit submit and was rereading my post, I figured I better type out Beast-Man or you chuckleheads would be making fuzzy bowel movement jokes.

They're simply the MissionFleet Mando figures bashed with a pair of Construx dudes. I technically swapped the pants of the Construx dudes before bashing onto the Mandos, for better color matching.

with these guys after they swapped pants :

Cut and paste at the boot line/knee and the cuff/elbow, and swap out the entire pelvis+thighs assembly. Drill a hole up the torso for the Construx waist peg. For Boba I swapped out the entire arm from shoulder down to cuff and simply shoved the Construx peg into the MissonFleet shoulder socket. It's tight, but works fine. For Mando I kept his original hindarms and (carefully) drilled sockets for the Construx elbow pegs.

Nice! I've been looking at those figures to do something like that but figured the heads would have been too big. Glad to see they work really well!

The MissionFleet figures are scale-warped such that the heads are probably 24th-scale, the bodies are 32nd-scale, with the hands and feet being 18th-scale. I'm hoping for more aliens to come so they can fit well with my 18th figures once upConstruxed.

Yeah, the Child and bassinet are 18th enough to work; and originally why I sought this MF set out. Like the figures, the rest of the line is scale-warped such that a lot of it will worth with 18th figures. I gave MFMando's disintegrator rifle to my regular Mando as a snub-nose disintegrator shotgun. Shut up, it doesn't have to make sense so long as it sounds cool.

Has anyone here purchased the "new" WWE Beast Mode 2.5 inch figures? If so how do they scale with mega construx figures? They seem like a potentially new source of fodder ..

I didn't want to post about this until I actually had them in hand, but the MOTU Battle Ram is/was/might be available on Amazon. I got the 2 sets I ordered (and overpaid for) today. I'll post some pictures soon after I put one together and play with it a bit.

Here are some pictures of the MOTU Battle Ram set. Note the Battle Armor He-Man does NOT come with the set. I needed another figure to show off the rider on the back and he was closest to me.

Image

The Battle Ram is in better scale to the figures than I thought it would be and appears to be really close to how I remember the vintage vehicle sizing up with those figures.
Image

Image

Here you can see how the Sky Sled connects to the Battle Ram, using a simple, single C-clip piece the back of the Sky Sled fits nice and snug when they are connected.
Image

The deco'd pieces are printed, not stickers which is pretty much the standard for this line. Mine are all clean and well applied with no defects I can see.
Image

The set comes with both the Griffin and Snake heads for the front of the Sky Sled and they swap out easily. I won't be displaying the Snake head on mine but its nice to have the option.
Image

Image

All in all its a very nice set. Comparable to the Windraider as far as size and complexity of the build. The figures are cool too. Tri-klops' eye visor spins around his head easily and Mekanek's extended neck pieces, while a bit tight, work really well too. I'd recommend this set but don't pay more than $30 for it, $20 is more reasonable.

Now I just need some space and time to finally build Castle Greyskull so I can create some epic Saturday morning bedroom battles from childhood.
