I am very glad to see that the YoJoe archive is going to be saved, or replaced or whatever. I really prefer the format of the YoJoe site over the way it is laid out on 3D. Don't get me wrong, I will happily take what I can get but while the 3D layout is really cool and flashy, I find it overall less helpful then the simple and comprehensive layout over at YoJoe. Maybe as they expand we can get the cool 3D pictures but also the comprehensiveness that YoJoe offered.

Agreed. Sometimes 3Djoes takes longer to load, due to all the high rez pics.

Yojoe is something I can quickly reference if I am trying to find a particular item.

I don't think it's *actually* yojoe merging. i think it's just the people behind yojoe that are going to be working with 3djoes. same for declass & others.

I still think it's going to be THE other joe site.

Trying to get the community run archival projects back in the hands of the community and under one roof is a good thing. I expect big things from all of the combined resources.

I do not know. My understanding is that not only is YoJoe no longer being updated but it is being allowed to fall apart or possibly even slowly dismantled.

That was my understanding as well. As Pluv alluded to, I don't believe YoJoe is community owned anymore. I was afraid that such an awesome resource was going to be lost. Glad to see the community pull together not just to maintain the information, but to make it new and improved.

Carson isn't messing around, and there's MANY big names involved, and much of the old YoJoe reference material is being re-done in a better format.

Hi guys,

YoJoe was built by over a hundred archivists working selflessly and tirelessly over the course of 20+ years. It’s a massive resource that I never sought to replace with 3DJoes. I purposefully kept 3DJoes more minimalist, mobile friendly, and artistic with a much higher bar for the quality of assets shown.

All that changed when VerticalScope purchased YoJoe in 2018 and essentially froze it in time and partially broke it by migrating all of the content to their servers.

The YoJoe admins are friends. We all discussed the proper route forward. Several options were discussed, and what we landed on was the announcement made last Friday.

Please watch the WOJM video and have a listen to the plans. It WILL be awesome IF everyone stays committed and works selflessly for years to come. I know I will do everything in my power to continue to build out and improve 1982-1994, and I’m excited to be training and empowering others to build and share their passion for preproduction, comics, international, and more modern eras.

To see what my intent is for each figure or vehicle page, have a look at 1982 Flash for the upgraded figure page with many more assets, or the 1990s vehicle pages like Destros Dominator. I’m happy with those pages and will work tirelessly to bring the rest up to that standard.

Looks great, except the one thing that is currently missing (and may be getting addressed) is the lack of thumbnails at the bottom of the page showing all possible versions at bottom of the page.

I believe in the video they talk about plans for what to do with variants & versions.
