is worth money... this might be the worst yet.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=to ... es&_sop=12

we got the reptillus maximus and cleric 2 pack on clearance years ago. gave it to our first grandaughter who basically unboxed them and never played with them. i liberated the weapons....then a few yrs later i cut reptillus up and bashed him on a fortnite figure because i was bored. i just tore that build apart in the last month or so. his skirt is on my current skeletor and his shoulder armor on my ramman. his head, hands, tail are in my junk figure box.....

the cleric might be kickin around a toy box somewhere, but i think he went home with the grands or worse got summer wading pool duty never to return inside.

Hmmm, I always look for alien looking figures to turn into Star Wars characters: Jabba's Palace denizens, Cantina Members, Jedi, Mos Eisley denizens, Coruscant denizens, Dexter's Diner patrons, etc...

That Cleric, or a few of them, would look great as scenefillers.

I couldn't sleep over $100 . A $1000 and I might just walk away from the hobby Rome the earth helping strangers....

I used a MU Vision figure for a custom years ago when you could still reasonably be sure to find figures more than once at retail....and at one point that fig was going for 50$ loose and 70$ carded. Now you can get it for cheap, but for awhile I regretted that custom.

See, my reaction to that is "I should have bought way more of these to chop up when they were cheaper", and never "I should have saved that."

I'm long past worrying about how much the crap I bought way back when might fetch today. All of these museum collectors out there too afraid to change an o-ring for fear of cracking the plastic and I'm over here doing it blind folded while hanging upside down with a timer going. Customizing has always been about destroying stuff to make them better. You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. And just like an egg, these toys too will rot away one day.

I'm with Pluv. I currently have a single o-ring Joe I will not use as fodder, my Mickey Mouse Cobra Commander, I also have some Mandalorian Sets from back in the day I won't chop up. Everything else is fair game. In fact I won't buy anything now unless I'm willing to use it as fodder. If I can't see myself cutting it to pieces I don't need it cause otherwise it'll just sit in a box in the garage until I die forcing my wife and daughter to try and figure out how to sell the stuff.

i am firmly in the "everything is fodder" camp. i was just saying i hate it because i could of sold it and bought more better things to chop up.

I’m with you. Even a lot of my OG joes from the 80s and 90s have been modified slightly. For example if a figure has off colour eyes they get proper ones painted on. So for all those 90s joes with eye balls the same colour as their hair I’ve ruined them and fixed them IMO.

i am in the everything is fodder camp, but...

I have certain favorite characters that i like having the various repaints of. Tripwire is one of them. At some point I used a funskool tripwire torso arms and head as a custom for someone on here for like christmas or something. Since i bought a ton of funskool figures i figured i had more of him somewhere. but if i did I can't find them. Who knew 4 dollar funskool figures were going to be such a hot ticket these days.

It was one of my problems when I started selling on ebay a few years ago. At first I rid myself of ToyBiz Marvel Legends that I had never opened and I made pretty good profit on those. Then I sold the loose stuff and NECA and McFarlane followed soon after. Anything that wasn't GI Joe was for sale. The I began pricing some 25th joe stuff that I had never got around to opening. I sold most all of that for a neat profit but then I started to regret some of the butchering I did so I stopped looking at ebay. Problem solved.
