So I was up in Spokane this week for work and stopped by a Fred Meyer (where I got all my Joes, SW, etc as a kid) and saw a bunch of Schleich stuff I'd never heard of - specifically the
Edrador line- they've got ice creatures, fire creatures, earth creatures.... you get the idea.
Came across these two and just had to get them:
When I got home, I decided to look up the line and see what else they had. This playset jumped out at me - I've had great luck with the Schleich playsets in the past, and this one had a real ESB Hoth Imperial Attack Base vibe, AND it came with an ice Smilodon, so I snagged it off Amazon (same day shipping!).
The Sabre-toothed Ice Cat was a total win (rando MTF dude for scale)
The playset was... meh when I got it put together. I guess I should've paid more attention to the package, but I've always been happy with their stuff, so didn't scrutinize. The play features and "ice" effects make it VERY toy-like. Will definitely need to put some white spraypaint effects on it to salvage the set, but it's not a total bust.
So for a fantasy line of stuff, you could do a lot worse - I think I'll snag the fire eagle (phoenix) next and call it good - if they had more than 0-2 points of articulation each, I'd grab the whole line.
Anyway - happy hunting!
