Absolutely loved Defenders of Earth and Bionic 6.
Any chance of doing Rick, LJ, Jedda, Kshin, Prince Kro-Tan, & Princess Castra aka the next gen?

The kids are on the list....but it's a long list of 80s people.

i have to go look up bionic 6. i know the name, or at least it sounds familiar. was it a cartoon version of the bionic man/woman shows?

It was supposed to be yes based off the 6 million dollar man and the bionic woman and the family they would have but they changed the names and everything during the development and they became the Bennet family instead of the Austin family. Thats what I've read about it. Great cartoon though.

i googled images and saw a lot. i have seen a few of the vintage figures on ebay, but i didn't know the line they were from. i had no idea they were metal either. i saw your figures on a gray background too. i really liked the action shots you did.

These are great. I love how faithful your figures are to the original designs.

I have to keep scrolling back through this thread to catch what I’ve missed. I wish I had your focus.

Thundercats are amazing. And I’m totally stealing that Mandrake recipe

Thanks man. I try. It's tough sometimes because the Bionic 6 for example the vintage figures look nothing like the cartoon really and finding pictures of 80s cartoons isn't easy.

Yeah they were a bad combination of die-cast and plastic. The plastic was brittle too and broke easily. In addition to that they barely looked like the cartoon....yet I loved them as a kid.

That was my background before getting my light box. I wanted to show that my customs were still action figures and not just statues but can still move. After going to all the effort of sanding joints and all that kind of stuff figured I wanted to show it off.

Thanks! The source material of the 80s is just awesome stuff.

Thundercats and GI Joe were my too favorites growing up. Have at it. He is such a great and highly underrated character. It's a shame lots of people don't know who he is.

well I've got a Flash and a Phantom already, even if not cartoon specific. Seems silly to not add him. The head was inspired.

Earth Corp from Inhumanoids with the vintage Metlar

These were some of the most challenging customs I've done and I'm not particularly happy with them but they are such weird designs I do think they reflect the actual characters.

there is a link to user customs in the gallery under everyones posts. some people don't upload to the gallery so an old fashioned search is the only way to find their work. the search works good here, but so many use different terms or names/spelling it is easy to miss some.

bindy is good :) customs page showing ever catagory
http://www.joecustoms.com/userops/profile.php?uid=2707

clicked on figures
http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... e&uid=2707

clicked P for phantom...nope
so clicked T for the :)
http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... T&uid=2707

there it is "the phantom"
http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... 7&id=16646

and on the same page "the flash" but that's wrong. so back to F and there is flash gordon
http://www.joecustoms.com/customs/custo ... 7&id=15963

going to the gallery you can search characters the same basic way. i do it all the time to see what has been done for certain characters. like i said above though there are some awesome customs on the forum who never made it to the gallery.

i made a phantom too :)

those are some tuff designs to tackle, but you did it in a very artful looking way. looks like these were what supersoaker designers were looking at.

Yeah, they are pretty bad. They are probably my least favorite customs I've done.
