My latest project built from a bunch of busted parts.
I decided to turn the Sea Ray into an actual plane instead of some weird submarine. Image
This is the first mock up. Image
After I attached the tale I decided to cut off the bulky rear engine. Image
A few of the modifications included removing four missile pegs and adding a new rear engine. I also used styrene to give the tail a more unique look. Image
First coat of black. Image
Getting closer to the finish. Image
Pretty much finished Image

Glorious.

Do you have a specific technique for reinforcing the build where two large parts meet, like the body and the tail here?

Glue. Lol

No it’s about having good contact points. If it’s a part you’ve cut you also have to make sure it’s perfectly straight. I also put a styrene tube inside the tail.

A) I love it.
B) Man, what a wasted opportunity to name it the Iron Scepter.

Awesome as always - your ability to mash up parts into something with such clean lines that looks like a factory product (better, actually) never ceases to amaze me.

This is another amazing build. Flawless design and execution.

I have a bin full of broken vehicles cause of your builds. Every time I see one I open the bin look at it, try to think of something, then put it away.

Thanks man. Regarding the names, honestly they just don’t mean a lot to me at this point. I used to love naming things but now I often just run with whatever I think of first. You can call it that though, that’s cool, or I can call the pilot that as it didn’t have a name.

You’ll get there one day. Just start building something. Often what I do is just find a bunch of random stuff and just start building.
