A couple of ones I recently did. Spectre gave me some feeback and helped me figure out the design for Redback.

In medieval Portugal, the Broxa was considered to be a shape shifting entity-as a witch in female form.
Broxa is of Romani (aka Gypsy) and Portugeuse ancestry. She is a firebrand, passionate, and spirited. She can do anything the boys can do and can be pretty scary and intense under combat situations. Not one to be messed with.

Redback is a character I would create for the Marvel Universe. I seem to recall a plotline in which certain people are predisposed to becoming a spider-themed superhero. Well, not exactly like that, it was more that certain people were destined to be involved in the greater spider web or however they explained it. Anyway, she would be one that ended up getting some type of Spider-Man based powers.
A rough bio for her: Hailing from Redbank, NJ, Charlotte Webb is a graphic design student at ESU and works as a tattoo art designer (she designs the artwork the inker then uses on the customer) to pay for school. She was returning to her apartment after work/school when she became involved in a fight between Spider-Man and one of his Rogues. She tripped over some damaged/collapsed building material and cut herself on a piece of wreckage with Spidey's blood on it. This blood mixed with hers, giving her some of his atributes, although at a limited level. She can sense threats, although it's more of a gut feeling instead of an immediate reaction. She can cling to walls, but she can easily lose her grip if she is surprised or stops 'concentrating'. Basically take Peter Parker's abilities and dial them down to 5%-10%. She doesn't have a tragic family backstory, just a college kid suddenly experiencing a life changing situation and trying to make sense of it. The costume would be something she started wearing after she has gotten enough practice and survival skills to actually be effective as a superhero. The helmet amplifies her Spider-Sense. The wrist gloves are highly modified tattoo ink injectors filled with a fast acting non-lethal sedative she injects by piercing or laceration using the palm blades. The feet and outer hand retractable blades are more for defensive attacks to keep threats away and make space to maneuver.
On a side note, I do love how the helmet has this little white fangs on each side of her mouth and the chest logo looks like a cross between Spider-Man 2099 and the Punisher 2099. I discovered when I selected that skull that is had the curves over the eyes, so I carefully positioned it strategically over her torso to line up with other...ahem, curves. I realized when I started doing the separate hair that it started to also look like spider legs, so I added more to complete the look. Two more in the back out of sight.
The background is made up of one cobweb, then I made additional lines going out, and then made smaller concentric style lines to make up a bigger web. At least 60+ shapes morphed into webs.
Her helmet eyes are actually swapped left for right and right for left, then turned so the bottom is the top and top is the bottom. That helped get away from the more famous Spider-Man and Venom style eyes.
I did try the white spider without any black surrounding lines, but it came off as too leotard looking.
Brown Recluse

After seeing a list of spider names, I got the idea for a follow-up to Redback. Figured a spider themed character named Brown Recluse would naturally have some type of brown costume.
He is a former thief/criminal along the lines of Sandman. Sometimes he's a bad guy, sometimes he's a good guy. I figure he might have had a job working for one of Tony Stark's companies and that gave him a background with new materials, miniature electronics, and 3D printing. He might have been working on prosthetics and servos and such, basing his designs on Doc Ock's tentacles and the legs of the Iron Spidey suit.
The legs aren't as durable as the tentacles or as advanced as the Iron Spidey legs, but he can use them to help climb up walls, get through ducting in buildings, etc.
Whereas Doc Ock would be more plodding and pounding when he uses the tentacles to walk, BR would have these tiny little 'tick-tick-tick' or 'tap-tap-tap' of tiny feet as he maneuvered.
I do like how the spider pattern on his upper torso kinda makes it look like he is wearing a wrestling singlet over the body suit,
