That's a solid bump up for Indy.

Yeah, I love the MTF fig for Indy - I've done a jacket-less one (since it was easier), used the light tan shirt and brown pants for mine. But still have to make one with a jacket - was trying to engineer swappable arms to use the same figure for both, but I'll probably have to just build a second one instead.

Looks awesome!

I was never happy with my Bravestarr custom as he was one of my favorite 80s characters so he was one of the first I made when I started my 80s customs, but I never thought I really did him justice. So, I remade him along with finally giving Thirty-Thirty a proper Sara Jane and adding Handlebar and Judge McBride.

Thanks! It was one of my favorites so definitely wanted to try and do them justice in custom form.

Thanks! I really appreciate that. The 80s definitely provided some bright vivid colors.

Alright, so not 80s at all, but rather than make a whole new thread and call it "My not 80s customs" I decided to just drop them here in this thread. So, my next handful of customs will be from some other genres like pulp fiction and 60s and 70s figures.

As I started reading about Doc Savage and discovered he was basically the perfect human and stood 6'8 and weighed in at 275 lbs I knew he would be a challenge to make and have him keep that size and along with the iconic ripped shirt and his bronze skin.

I sculpted the pec muscles and the ripped shirt and the hair. It didn't turn out terrible and I learned from my first experience sculpting ripped clothing so that is a positive.

With some other great pulp characters (only Lone Ranger, Tonto and Mandrake are customs besides Doc)
While I've made customs of Flash and the Phantom for my Defenders of the Earth customs I went with their Bossfight more pulp appropriate costumes here.

One of my favorite 70s shows that I watched in re-runs as it was off the air barely before I was born was the Six Million Dollar Man. I always wanted a toy of Steve Austin, but by the 80s the figure was long out of production and eBay wasn't a thing yet so finding older toys wasn't an easy task. I never had the 70s figure, but I finally have him in modern 4 inch scale (which is the best scale anyway...right). I also have him pictured with the cartoon the show inspired Bionic Six.

I'm not too familiar with Bravestarr, but the sculpting on them is top notch.

Thanks. The Fresh Monkey figure was the perfect base. Just some sculpting on the torso to look like a track suit and then finding a head to resemble Lee Majors and a paint job.

Oh man...all the episodes are all YouTube. You should check out a couple. They are a fun watch.

Mattel released a line of action figures in the 1960s based on the space craze at the time. Major Matt Mason Mattel's Man in Space. Matt Mason was the main astronaut, but the line had several other characters in the line that just had different colored suits really. I obviously was way too young to have had any of these figures growing up, but was intrigued by them as I came across them online. I decided to add Matt Mason to the project even though like The 6 million dollar man he is an outlier from the 80s.
