I'm still wondering why they changed the leg and waist construction (along with the sizing of the figures themselves) for this and The Batman before it. (Well, not so much in the sizing for the figures for The Batman.)
I mean I guess it started as trying to scale the rest of the cast to the Rock and then someone said, "Hey, we could also cut out a bunch of parts if we remove articualtion too and make it cheaper." Then someone else said, " Yes. Let's do that! No one cares about anyone else except the Rock in this toyline."
The Batman line had more to do with making closer to the movie and less like the other Batman toyline it is sitting right next to on the pegs. I think, overall, they did a good job with it. Collectors seemed to like the line, but what really surprised me was how much kids bought it. Over the summer I had my pre-k nephew and his friend with me on a trip to Walmart. I told them if they were good during the trip I'd let them each get a toy. I thought for sure they'd go for the light sabers, squirt guns, or Lightyear stuff. Nope, The Batman. And neither of them have seen the movie. Proving Batman just sells.
