Every Joe #211: Rollbar

Rollbar is a solid, if bland, 2004 entry. Unlike many other New Sculpt figures, the proportions were good and there were no nonsensical bits or gizmos on the uniform.

Despite the lack of anything interesting or distracting on the uniform, the toy's very detailed head sculpt screams 2004, with its buzz-cut hair, subtle smirk, and lantern jawline. I tried by best to channel Herb Trimpe's style on the face, although he never drew the character.

Thanks, guys.

I appreciate it. Not a kinetic piece, but sometimes guys working on machines works.

He could be hanging off monkey bars or changing a lightbulb :)

Yeah, that's true. This piece needed a bit more than what I gave it.

I cut corners and didn't lay down quite enough information to "read". Something as simple as a tool box or tire tracks on the floor would've made it more clear.

Right now, the time between when I put these "in the can" and when they post is about 1 1/2 years. Makes it easier to see the flaws. Some of these I fix, and some I'm too lazy to adjust.

I meant he looks more dynamic and could work for more than just fixing stuff. Maybe if you had another uniformed guy down the road you could swap backgrounds.
