Every Joe #224: Arcee

It's hard to explain how much I don't like Transformers spilling into GI Joe. GI Joe, at least at the beginning, was a few minutes into the future as far as technology was concerned. But it slowly warped, becoming more and more zany, leading to Serpentor. Once you go as far as Serpentor, may as well go all silly and bring in the Transformers. Uggh.

In 2017 the GI Joe Collectors' Club went extra extra zany with a GI Joe/Transformers set. It included this figure, Arcee... as a human. Oh, joy.

I don't like the source material, but I had fun with it anyway.

I always considered her to be the holoavatar of Arcee. I still would love to get a copy of the figure. Great work once again.

pink ranger all grown up :) really nice art!

i think transformers have to exist along joes, but i'm not into them. this human, heck all the crossover humans fit good.

Wasn't this based on an episode of Transformers where they actually get turned into humans?

I liked the figures for being something different, but it is a challenge to fit them into a five-minutes-into-the-future military line if that's your flavor of 'Joes.

Still, happy to see you tackle more subjects!

Thanks.

Do I correctly understand that Transformers beat James Cameron to the whole Avatar schtick?

Thanks!

I understand that bringing more out-there science fiction in Joe lore probably gave it longer legs. I wonder if Eagle Force would've suffered that fate over time had they survived into 1983.

Thanks. I'm doing art of all of those set figures. Not sure if I've posted any of the others yet, though.
