I recently picked up 2x Dr Sattler figures on clearance at Target. Unless I am wrong, this figure might be a first in a major toy line-swappable dinosaur crap covered arms.

After a month delay I finally received a package containing Red Star parts: 8x torsos, 5x leg sets, and a small pile of unmatched/broken parts. This was quite the adventure to get and quite honestly would make me PO'ed to write it all out. Short story, the local Post Office screwed up multiple times.

And last night ordered another 10x Super7 Greenshirt JOEs (different from last ten). At that price, $6.99 minus promo code and free shipping, is was almost a steal.

First haul of the year was the new Dungeons and Dragons Honor Among Thieves 6” figures from Hasbro. Amazon quietly had three of the them in stock yesterday so I snagged them. The Forge (Hugh Grant) and Holga (Michelle Rodriguez) figures shipped overnight so they arrived this morning. The likenesses are a mixed bag. The sculpt on Forge is almost there but if they used the photo-real paint it didn’t work. But from certain angles you can see Hugh Grant in it. More of a Hugh Grant smirk would have helped. The Holga sculpt though completely misses the mark looking barely like Michelle Rodriguez. Almost like the early MCU Captain America umasked heads that were close but clearly not Chris Evans. The third figure Simon (Justice Smith) should be here tomorrow.

Holga just looks way off the mark, like she called in sick the day they were doing the 3D scans.

Looking forward to your Simon review. He has enough accessories that I was thinking of grabbing him just for that.

The third of the D&D Honor Among Thieves figures arrived yesterday. Simon (Justice Smith) is a decent figure. His big plastic cape is restrictive of the articulation but that's to be expected of all plastic capes. The likeness is somewhere between the Forge and Holga figures, closer to Forge in accuracy. I can kinda see Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu) but what would help it more is paint, especially the eyes. Justice has very dark eyes and this figure doesn't. I think if the photo-real paint was better and the eyes were darker the likeness would be much better. But he does have an up/down hinge in his right hand for pointing his staff/wand which combined with the splayed spellcasting left hand makes for some nice posing potential. Overall a decent figure that will look good with Star Wars Black Series, the upcoming Indiana Jones figures and others in the more realistic 1/12 scale.

Also received a big POL from BBTS with more 30MM sets and a bunch of Eagle Force figures. I'm really loving the Eagle Force figures the more I get.

Pile of loot from BBTS came in with 2 Vintage collection Dark Troopers (only had the chance to open and mess around with one) and the D&D transforming d20’s. Also grabbed some glow in the dark pups at a local comic shop. The German Shepard is under scaled but the poodle and wiener dog are pretty decent.

The Dark Trooper is everything I wanted in this figure. From the display power station to the alternate hands to the blaster that fits on the leg to the jet boots and even the light piping for the eyes. Favorite figure of the year. :shifty:

I know the d20’s are novelty items, but the red dragon one is actually a good figure on par with some of megaconstrux best. The beholder (multi-eyed ball thing) is…lacking. Thankfully that was the one I planned on leaving in dice mode.

On Thursday I received a care package from Spectre. Haven't gone through it completely yet, but the major items were The Batman Batmobile (the plain jane Mad Max one), and the Star Wars Vintage Sasha Banks character.

Two packages from Gamestop also arrived. Picked up a bunch of PS4 games and a lone PS3 game: Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy, John Wick Hex, Atari Flashback Classics 1 & 2, Days Gone, Subnautica Below Zero, Snoopy's Grand Adventure, Air Conflict Double Pack (Vietnam and Pacific Carriers), with the a lone PS3 LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga.

Just waiting for a few more things to arrive from Black Major, Entertainment Eatch, and a book order.

Is not getting rights to an actor's likeness still a thing in this era of vertical integration and franchise merchandising? These DnD figures really feel like they're intentionally missing the mark in that department in a very avoid-a-lawsuit kind of way.

In more related news, an order from Gridiron Props arrived in the mail today. A couple of the new weapons cases w/ rifles, an RPG set for my Alley Vipers and a set made for a certain wrestling soldier. More solid stuff.

This guy arrived today from an eBay seller- a full 3D-printed Granamyr for about 1/4 the price that the actual MOTUC fig is going for online. -He's got nearly all the same articulation as the factory version, and since he's just a glorified dio piece, anyway, I feel really good about this purchase. He's supposed to scale with the Origins figs, but based on how he looks here next to the MOTUC Grayskull, he might be the same size as the Classics version. And of course, my "Masterverse" is 1:18, so he's even better for that.

Broke off part of his toenail when unboxing, but I can fix that easily. Kinda wish he was painted in the reddish colors from the cartoon, but I'll take what I have. I can always touch him up/repaint later - but since he was printed with green filament, I'll probably keep him as-is.

That is extremely impressive especially for a FDM print.

Seeing 3D Printed toys provide better value than what official product does makes me smile.

I kind of want you to go in the opposite direction and make it look More jagged like it was broken off right before he squished the life out of a flailing victim.

Based on a tip from Robo at The Fwoosh I found the 4th D&D Honor Among Thieves figure on Amazon. Listed as "Amicalola" is the Edgin (Chris Pine) figure. Like the Forge (Hugh Grant) figure the Chris Pine likeness is there but man does he have a fivehead. Also the straight cut bicep swivel joints are not great. But he's good enough for a background dude in my Star Wars display.

And just as I make that last post the FedEx guy drops off the D&D animated Venger and Dungeon Master 2-pack (1 1/3 pack?). The surprise is that Venger has long slits in the skirt and at the shoulders of his wrap that theoretically allow for more range of motion for arms and legs. In practice, straight out of the box the joints are super stiff. So much so that I don't want to even try to move them until I give them a hot water bath first. Also the plastic of the skirt and shoulder wrap is thicker than other similar items and makes moving the limbs that much harder. But the sculpt is animation accurate so other than soft goods I don't know what else they could have done. Dungeon Master is a 3" tall slug figure with swivel/hinge shoulders and wrists and maaaaybe a balljointed head but he has no neck so its hard to tell. I have the rest of the first wave preordered from Target and I think these guys will live with my NECA Gargoyles.

Oh and the dice that come with the figures is a neat way to tie in to the original game.
