After a marathon last Saturday of watching The Mummy and The Mummy Returns I decided I need a Mummy prop. Luckily Loot Studios has a great Mummy from the Buried Tomb set. I just needed to resize it and print. I made it the same height as a retro Stalker but it may be just slightly oversized but I'm chalking that up to excessive linen wraps.

And of course I tried to recreate one of my favorite comic covers.

The mummy looks great.

...and that fantastic Dr. Mindbender makes me think that Eugene Levy needs to get shredded and shave his head to play Dr. B in a movie.

Quick Saturday morning project. I don't have a well articulated Chewbacca and a couple of these Buzz Lightyear figures. A little cutting and drilling on some donor wookiees and here is a wookiee in a spacesuit. I planned on painting it but now I think I like the yellow suit.Image

I cast Bob 'Shawshank Redemption' Guntin as Dr. Mindbender in my Cast The GIJOE movie thread.

I like the Mummy, it's amazing how customizers are able to create these things. It's almost whimsical in a sense. Want an alien flower creature? Print it. Want a set of chairs for a dio? Print it.

The Wookiee in a spacesuit is cool, although I feel it needs some ageing to make it look used. Right now it is a little 'brand new threads' looking.

I have a ton of different "Lightyear" figures that I have been grabbing on clearance for the crystal containers. I have been mulling over different ideas for what to use them for. One of my ideas was to paint the inside of the helmet "glass" opaque black or gold and just have them be a species of giant spacemen. I was also thinking about doing Wookiees like this. Seeing one actually assembled has made me lean in that direction for a few of them.

Which Lightyear figure is that that you used for the base? I've also wound up with a few extras.

I agree, the suit needs weathering. That may be today's project.

That's a neat idea to paint the inside of the visor. I've been brainstorming for years about a group of scientists, larger than humans, from an alternate dimension calling themselves Visionaries

Pretty sure I picked this up on clearance at walmart.

Thanks. I bought the Sam's Club pack and was wondering if the heights are the same.
