Today's new profile looks at the 1993 Eel:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... 3-eel.html

This purple repaint is similar to the 1992 figure and is a great army builder. It's not the 1985 figure. But, it is a neat figure to own who works great with vehicles like the Bugg.

Today's new profile features the 1985 Frostbite:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... tbite.html

Frostbite is another quintessential 1985 vehicle driver. He's designed to do his job and look good while doing it.

Today's new profile looks at the 2023 Pilot Scarlett figure from the Skystriker Haslab set:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... rlett.html

This figure brings a nice visual to a collection. But, there are issues with it should you choose to open her.

Today's new profile looks at the 1983 Silver Pads Grand Slam:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... -slam.html

This was a key figure of my childhood and is a visually appealing repaint. He's just super expensive these days.

Love this entry! I was a couple years behind you, and only came to GI Joe in late-84. My first comic was #39. I had no idea Grand Slam existed until seeing a reprint of issue #1. I remember seeing the Jump launch pad in the mail order inserts that came with vehicles. I always assumed that was Flash in the picture. I also remember being surprised the first time I actually saw the launch pad "in the plastic." I'd assumed it was much larger.
Also, delighted by the mention of Service Merchandise, a very odd store I remember very fondly. (Pretty sure that's where I got my Cobra Hydrofoil and maybe my first piece of luggage.)

One more thing: there used to be a relatively prominent member of the JC community who went by Grand Slam. He was, as I recall, an active and enthusiastic preacher for the church of Grand Slam. So much so, that I remember thinking back when Hasbro's DTC Grand Slam was released that JC's Grand Slam deserved some credit.

Today's new profile looks at the 1993 Street Fighter Blanka:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... lanka.html

In the context of Joe, this guy's an oddball. But, he can be used with some of the sci-fi elements of the line.

Today's new profile looks at the Kickstart V2 figure from Red Laser Army:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... -army.html

This figure was part of a late "remix set" but is a visually distinctive appearance of the Snake Eyes head and Clutch chest.

Something different today:

Today's new post looks at the recently released Star Wars Retro Biker Scout:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... scout.html

This is a nice homage to the first figure I ever bought from Return of the Jedi.

Today's new post looks at the Satan figure from Argentina:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... usive.html

This once common figure has become almost a grail to newer collectors and now commands incredibly high prices.

Today, we look at the Plastirama Ripcord figure named Fuego who was exclusive to Argentina:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... pcord.html

Fuego is a brighter, more vibrant Ripcord repaint who also features bare hands. Once upon a time, he was the cheapest foreign Joe you could buy. Today, he's more expensive. But, still relatively affordable, especially when compared to his Plastirama contemporaries.

I've had a few foreign variants fall into my lap, but this is one I specifically went after. The blue camo up against the green really pops. Even when you have it and the US version side by side it still pulls your eye toward it.

Today's new profile looks at the Flash figure produced by the Auriken toy company in Mexico:

The colors on this figure are amazing.

Todays brand new profile looks at the 2005 Convention Metal Head:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... -head.html

It was great to see this mold return. But, the color applications on Metal Head never really hit the mark with me. You can argue this was the best overall convention set. But, Metal Head was definitely the weakest member.

Today, we look at the 1993 Mega Marines layout from a Toy Fair catalog:

https://forgotten--figures.blogspot.com ... -fare.html

This piece is full of preproduction designs including unproduced weapon colors and an accessory swap.
