Honestly, I never had much use for the Dreadnoks. They were fun enough in the comics, but why what did Cobra need with a pack of mostly not very bright bikers? Zartan was kind of cool, I guess, but also conceptually confusing (he's a swamp creep, but also a master of disguise who uses highly advanced holographic technology, and his skin changes color in the sun... or something. Wait, scratch all that, he's a ninja, but more of a biker. A ninja biker. Did we mention he's a world-class archer?)
But you know, as I've grown older, the more I appreciate Zarana and Zandar and their whole early-80s New Wave punk vibe. And after spending the better part of the past year painting varying shades of green and brown, It felt great to break out some hot pink and neon blue.
Zarana came about because I had that great BFS Julie Walker Phantom head with no hair. It's a great sculpt, with a lot of personality. The eye mask ties her a little more closely to Zartan (maybe she's taken his place?) and and it's just one of many nods to big brother and his various looks across these two figures (along with a little Bowie and Adam Ant).
These were a lot of fun. Hope you like them!

Beautiful work and great to see unique takes on these long time characters.

Very cool take on them. Almost a Gotham street gang or wilding vibe.

Pleasant surprise of the year so far, right there. I never cared about Zandar and Zarana as a kid, either. I had both, but they were among my least-favorite figures that I owned. But they look amazing here. And, better yet, they look interesting: these are characters I'd be curious about. Zandar, in particular, stands out: it's a visually striking figure, and all of the color and armor works together shockingly well.

I was just wondering if Zartan v2 head would be good for a custom Zandar, and thanks to you the answer is yes.

Solid take on them for sure. Takes what I like about the originals and turns up the volume.

Thanks everyone! Really happy to see that people are connecting with these as they're a bit outside my comfort zone.

That, right there, means everything to me. I need to remind myself that that, above all else, is the goal for me in this little hobby of mine: to rouse interest and curiosity; to present a character--new or reimagined--in such a way that people want to know more about them and spend more time in their universe. Thanks for that. Very encouraging.

That Zandar take is epic. I can feel the 80s but modern feel just from the Mohawk alone. Wooowww.. very impressed with both!
