There was something in the simplicity of the originals that had a certain charm to them, but they just weren't the cartoon accurate figures I wanted to have. As I've picked up certain customizing tips and tricks I really believed I could now make the ones I wanted to originally. Your Dr. Scarab was always the pinnacle to me and I was always slightly embarrassed by my attempt at him so I just went full blown grotesquely fat Scarab this time.

Thanks. I just always put my magnifying headset on and carefully go back over every line. I definitely appreciate the compliment. Yeah, airbrushing is something I've wanted to look in to but just never have. That and a 3D printer are probably my next steps forward with making customs. For now it is all paintbrush and hand sculpt.

Those designs look great on your better-scaled figures than on the original figures. Good way to show off what the original designers were going for.

Decided to give Indiana Jones a slight make over

Shortened the torso so the jacket didn't come up so high, darkened the shirt so it didn't have that crisp white appearance and best of all a new head sculpt from Craniac studios.

i'm not sure which version you are using, but there are at least 2 (maybe 3) versions. the largest ones come with the indy w/removable hat. the one from the indy with fixed hat is a bit smaller.

The new head I'm using is a 3D sculpt from Craniac Studios. The hat isn't removable but the sculpt is awesome. I just painted it once I got it.

I know it is a rarity for me to make Joe customs, but around May, June and July every year I start taking a look at my ME Joe collection and decide if their are figures I want to add through making a custom or just improve upon.

I started a little early this year since Spartan118 has some of the Classified heads in ME scale.

I always liked Duke but we never got a really good classic Duke in this scale. I've made a few changes. He isn't perfect, but I think he is an improvement.

I switched the tiny 25th head with the Classified sculpt and changed out the horrible lower arms with Marauder ones.



With his girl....yes from the cartoon don't give me that comic book Snake Eyes garbage

And....two more. My obvious favorite Flint gets a head swap with a sculpt from Spartan118 though it isn't Classified, with new lower arms from Marauders and hands from an Eagle Force figure. Lady Jaye has a Classified head sculpt.

on indy i accidentally left out that i was talking about different jackets. i used the smaller ones for a few years before i ordered a set of figures with the removable hats and slightly larger jackets.

Oh, okay. Yeah I'm not sure which Indy I used, but I wish I had done some jackets were longer before modifying the torso, but it's all good.

I actually always liked Dr. Mindbender. I liked the character in the cartoon and I had the vintage figure growing up so he always seemed to make it into whatever story I was playing with my Joes. Probably had something to do with the Serpentor episodes and the fact he was behind creating him. I was happy we got a figure of him in the 25th line but it was pretty bad. Finally after years of looking at it, I decided to try and make a Dr. Mindbender I was content with.

I used mostly Bossfight parts, headcast of the arctic Mindbender and the harness and cape of the 25th.
