Darkling, Covert Ops (Ninja Master)


Darkling was a founding member of the Night Creepers who was the only survivor of a mission to eliminate Destro. Although grievously wounded, he recovered and learned he had been accused of tipping off Destro and the JOEs. Facing the wrath of the entire Night Creeper organization, he was recruited by Snake-Eyes to join the ever expanding Ninja Force. After a very public 'death', he received extensive plastic surgery and altered his fighting style to prevent the Night Creepers from identifying him.

*I originally had another design in mind, but it kept coming out to Grendel looking, so I abandoned that one. I chose a design very similar to the original Night Creepers so that he could, with minor adjustments, be able to easily infiltrate the techno-ninjas at any given moment. By the time they realize they have an instruder in their midst it is too late.

Darkling was originally conceived as the leader of my version of the Ninja Force before I started legit working my characters into what would be my approach to the GIJOEverse.

Cakewalk, Maritime Special Purpose Force


Cakewalk joined the USMC and served with the MSPF prior to being transferred to the JOEs. She has a knack for getting herself in and out of trouble on missions involving ship boarding and inspection. She is often partnered with Milk Run, another member of the MSPF.

*I remember seeing a twelve inch GIJOE figures that was part of the MSPF and I always wanted to see that specialty represented with the JOEs. I had this design done and was brainstorming for a long time before finally getting an idea on where to go with her. I knew I wanted the M-16 to have a shotgun attachment, so the rough idea was there.

Jararaca, Python Patrol Agent


What if that innocent girl from Ipanema was radicalized in school and then devoted her time to destabilizing the governments of multiple South American countries? That's Jararaca. She could have been one of the most popular models to ever come from Brazil if she hadn't fallen into the teachings of so-called political freedom fighters. Now she uses her looks and brazen sexuality to manipulate others, access the homes of government officials, and threaten the lives of the innocent. Cobra offered her a spot with the Python Patrol and she has become even more dangerous.

The Hood, Cobra Mercenary


The Hood was an early operative of Cobra Command. He has never been identified, and he may or may not have trained the first Crimson Guard operatives in military tactics. A very dangerous man.

Milkrun & Hood looks mostly doable (for my limited skillet). And Precinct is a good name for the Law (though that version is the one I use for Law ), just need a new name for the Order.

Snakebytes, Cobra Cyber Troops


These guys are like Lobot from Cloud City. They are surgically enhanced to allow them to connect with computer systems, allowing them to access critical infrastructures, scan terrain for hidden targets using drones, or break in to computer networks. None of these actions are done to get positive results by Cobra. They are cold and emotionless. Disconnecting them would kill them, by scrambling what's left of their brains.

I hated the concept of the Sonic version of Psyche-Out and came up with a more suitable use for the design. A quick color change and now I have another Cobra specialty trooper. Getting to use 'Snakebytes' for a codename was a no brainer. They are sorta like the Borg, but without the "Resistance is Futile" proclamations. Maybe another cold type line?

Krait, Cobra Reptile Handler


In numerous issues of the Marvel run, various members of Cobra were seen holding snakes while performing some Cobra ceremony. I thought there was an opportunity to create a character that would
be the go to person for this. Taking the worst attributes of Jake the Snake Roberts, or an evil Crocodile Hunter, or that guy from Florida that injected himself with venom daily for years and then saved hundreds of lives by donating his blood as a antivenom.

He could be a real nasty Dreadnok, but even they would get antsy around venomous snakes. I figure he'd have pet names for the snakes, and think of them as his children, similar to the way Croc Master does. Cobra Troopers whisper his name like it was the boogie man and if they screw up they won't have the luxury of joining the leaky suit brigade, they'll be forwarded to Krait and his machinations.

Mako, Eel Commander


Mako would have joined the Plague, but Guillotine got that slot. He's too dangerous in the water, so the JOEs would rather drop depth charges on him rather than risking troops getting in the water with him. There are certain niceties in war, such as not using depth charges against divers or not pinging them with sonar. The JOEs understand that and still would drop depth charges.
