So, now we've got GI Joe, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Marvel Comics, DC Comics,Hero's, Hellboy, Star Trek, and WWE all in one similar scale. What do you expect next? Movie Classics? MOTU? Simpsons?

I'd personally love a TV/Movie classics line. New 1:18 A-Team, Ghostbuster's, CHiPs, Blues Brothers, etc. I'd also like a Music series. Release a base stage, sell different branded equipment packs, lighting rigs and so forth. I think it would sell better than the McFarlane stuff because with articulation you could actually have some variation in your band.

I would take the Marvel line out until we actually *see* it. What's the hold-up, Hasbro?

You forgot to add in the Ages of Action or whatever history line UniMax is making. Have those pics shown up?

I'd like to see some StarGate 18th figs. Diamond's not exactly setting the world on fire with their ML scaled stuff at $15 each, y'know.

I so desperately want to see a proper MicroNauts line before I die. It's practically the only reason I go on.

I'd like to see Mezco do some of the other DarkHorse characters, Grendel in particular. But the Fear Agent has some great designs, as does the Umbrella Academy. Hell, let Mezco open it up to all 3rd-party comic characters so we can get some Savage Dragon, Madman, and all them peeps they tried to do in the failed Legendary Comics Heroes line.

Your Savage Dragon comment made me think of another. Ninja Turtles. I'd love to have Joe scaled Turtles & Shredder.

Someone over at TNI said they spoke with a Hasbro guy at TF and was told the 1/18 Marvel Lines wasn't happening this year, but they have the 1/18 Hulk Movie Line(I know it's reused Joes, but it's still 1/18), so I don't know.

It wouldn't surprise me if they are holding it back for SDCC.

And we have also had Golden Compass and Harry Potter in more or less 1:18.

Not that I am complaining about the fact we are getting so many lines in this scale, but I am rather curious. For years, the industry standard seems to have been 1:12 scale, then all of a sudden, we are looking at a plethora of 1:18 figures. Are we looking at a severe rise in the cost of raw materials making 1:12 figures more expensive to make?

Just been thinking about figures I would like to see. What about a classic movies line? 2 or 3 figures together in a pack, possibly with a dio piece:

2001: A Space Odyssey- Dave Bowman and Frank Poole in spacesuits with monolith
Logan's Run: Logan, Jessica and Francis
Dracula: Set One: Dracula and Jonathon Harker with coffin
Set Two: Mina, Lucy and Van Helsing
Frankenstein: Dr Frankenstein and The Monster with operating table and instruments (monster has removable parts)
Bride of Frankenstein: The Bride and Dr Pretorius with generator and miniature people in jars
The Mummy: Imhotep (Mummy wrappins) and Imhotep (Ardath Bey disguise) plus Sarcophagus
Creature from the Black Lagoon: David, Kay and The Creature
The Day The Earth Stood Still: Gort, Klaatu and Helen Benson
War of the Worlds: Set One: Dr Forrester, Sylvia and Martian
Set Two: Pastor Collins, Soldier and Martian War Machine
This Island Earth: Set One: Exeter, Dr Meachem and Dr Adams
Set Two: Metaluna Mutant x2 plus Interocitor Machine
Forbidden Planet: Set One: Commander Adams, Dr Morbius and Altaira
Set Two: Doc, Robbie and clear plastic creature

Each pack would come with a booklet about teh film and characters, and a mini movie poster

i wouldn't mind seeing some of the 'old' 1:18 come back in the new style...

BSG, Buck Rogers, The Black Hole, Dukes, etc.

agreed. Ive been dying to get a Diectorate fighter. and I never got Old B.O.B. (I do have Vincient and Twikki)

I wouldnt mind a re-release of the Robotech figures, just resculpt them for better likeness, bu keep them 1:18 scale. Imagine, to have a veritech that fits joes, that you don't have to pay 80 bucks for on Ebay.

Sort of wondering about this big turn around myself. A few years back it looked like 1:18 as a toy scale was almost dead with GI Joe going to 8" and even Star Wars seemed to be experimenting to get away from 1:18.

Get to Toy Fair '08 and everyone seems to have either jumped on the band wagon or they have plans to jump on the band wagon in the near future.

Costs of materials could be one factor. Another factor could be the Wal-Mart factor of wanting to give less shelf space to toys so companies are shrinking the size of their figures and packaging to fit the needs of Wal-Mart. Could be the impulse buy price on toys have dropped as collectors are paying more for gas, food, and all the other stuff you need besides toys so cheaper toys mean more buys rather than I can't afford that this week. Could be the advancement in the sculpting on Star Wars and GI Joe showed other companies you can get the detailing of 1:12 at the much cheaper price point of 1:18. Could be other companies want to get in on the multi-packs and comic book packs band wagon and 1:18 is far better for that than the larger scales are.

What ever the reason it is pretty nice to see a new age of 1:18 dawning rather than wondering if 1:18 was going away.

I'd really love to see some Ghost in the Shell stuff here. There's some very cool 1:18 stuff in Japan, but I can't justify blowing half a years toy budget on an item or two.
The same thing goes for the Mospeda (Robotech Next Gen) Cyclones. Especially with the Robotech Shadow Chronicles movie out and Shadow Rising coming next year. It be nice if these toys were brought here in a more systematic and cheaper fashion. Yeah I know the quality is usually much higher than mainstream toys here, but you know what I mean.

Speaking of which, MJ where's wave 5?

One series from the past I would love to see re-done with better articulation is Action Force. Especially SAS Squad, Z Force and The Red Shadows

In all God's-honest truth, while there are some lines I'd definately choose to have in 18th scale; so long as it's decently sculpted and articulated; I'll take every damn thing they put out in 18th scale. There's not a 'guy's' property that I would not be interested in seeing in 18th.

Hmmm, let's see if I can come up with a property that hasn't already been wished-for-to-death in so many previous of these types of threads....

...

...

...

...Nope, sure can't. I think everything cool's already been mentioned at one point or another, lol.
