Thanks to free wireless in my hotel last night, I was able to get the latest chapter up.

Paranoia and overconfidence plague the Joes as they continue to search for an escaped prisoner inside the Pit...one whose favorite passtimes include sending them to Doc's sick bay and stealing their faces. And, as Dukie looks for more Joes to join the hunt, Scarlett plays her own hunch as to what the mysterious intruder might really be after.

Also, by popular demand...

 vs. :zartan:!

It's all in Chapter 8 of my latest dio story arc, "Hide & Seek," which you can check out at camper's ever-fabulous Checkpoint Alpha:

http://www.checkpointalpha.com/wb/pages/dio-stories/hide-seek/chapter-8.php

Give it a quick read and then pop back in here to let me know what you think.

Thanks for looking.

Geesh, I don't know which is better... the dialogue, the custom figs or the sets. Awesome stuff.

you promised us Snake-Eyes vs Zartan...

It was another great chapter, very intense the way nobody knows who the real guy is, and all are suspicious of each other.

A few other things:

I think I've babbled enough now, thank you for another chapter, Spin! It is easily one of the highlights of my day to read your dios.

I'm really glad you guys enjoyed this. It's been a lot of fun to write (and a lot of work to shoot).

As for that main event billed on the title card...well...lets just say Snake Eyes probably wants to see a rematch as much as you do.

;)

Heh!

I promise not to throw any smoke monsters into the mix and I've been avoiding the flashback technique...so far.

:shifty:

Really glad to hear the story has a similar addictive quality, though. Hopefully I'll be able to maintain that for the two remaining chapters.

Thanks for checking checking it out and coming back.

Dang, Zartan is quite the badass. AWESOME.

Ray, I don't know if you've ever played Mercenaries on Resident Evil 4, but when you play HUNK, there is one of the baddest ass moves I have ever seen, and I would LOVE, and I mean Beav and Hawk LOVE, to see you attempt that move with these excellent figures with the MM hands. The best I can describe it is one of the infected women of the village lunged at HUNK with a butcher knife. He trapped her arm (right) with his left arm, then turned a 180 with his back to her back and trapped right arm, then took his right arm and grabbed her head, and twisted it 180, snapping her neck.

That was hands down, the baddest move for a video game character that I have ever seen. It's execution was FLAWLESS.

If there's anyone who could pull that off with the figures, you're the man.

I know exactly the move of which you speak, Cap, and I'll consider that half request/half challenge. Now topick an appropriate point in the narrative...and an unfortunate victim.

:shifty:

Glad you're digging this story and, in case I don't type it enough, thanks for providing such great sets for me to work/play with.

YES! If you could see my smile, it would have two clenched fists, one with a wedding ring, on either side of my mouth, pulling.

Shame on you Beav for the visual. :shifty:

And that's the way he SHOULD be! Yes!

Issue #51 of the Marvel series had a bit of this, but it ended far too quickly. This is keeping that type of thing going longer, and it's very exciting.

Great job on establishing Zartan's Badness, if anyone would take out snakes quickly it would be he.

I had to read the past few chapters since I was behind, great workings all around. one thing though.

I felt the Duke/Grunt and Torpedo/Deep Six confrintation a bit forced. I realize that they would be a bit skitish but it just seemed like, I donno, out of place somehow. I am not really sure how to explain it, but I could see that whole thing going several different directions that probably wouldn't have paid off the same way, but would have felt more natural too me.

Again I am not sure why it didn't feel right, but putting it out there.

Wow! Nothing quite like some feedback from a couple of my favorite dio authors from way back.

Tim, I'm really glad you're digging this story and I hope the conclusion won't disappoint.

Zed, I'm sorry the Duke/Grunt/Torpedo/Deep Six thing didn't quite do it for you. I know the scenario's a bit convoluted, and it might even have felt like tensions were running absurdly high within that group, but all I can say is the guys in the Pit are pretty much in the middle of their own horror movie right now. So it's probably okay if you want to yell at the screen every so often.

;)

I really do appreciate the feedback and that both of you took the time to check this out.

Thanks!

You know it's good when you yell at the screen. ;)
