I stumbled on perhaps the most impressive display of Joes since '84 and wanted to share with everyone. I think I know where everyone else's shipments ended up. There were plenty of CGs and Troopers to be had. And for those in or near San Antonio, this was the Wal Mart on 1604 & Nacogdoches. It is a little out of the way for me but looks like I'll have to scope it out more often.

I thought about posting this when I was there last weekend. I went straight to the Joe section from the other side and only found Rock n Roll. I asked a guy who worked there if they had more Joes and he said they had some on the endcap. I couldn't believe that when I saw it. It was like I was 8 at TRU again.

I was sad though to see that they only had the same 8 figures there.

That's AWESOME!

The closest I've come to that was a 4 ft section filled to capacity at an Omaha Target. Not near as impressive as a full endcap though.

Still I got an arm load of blueshirts outta the deal, so I ain't complaining

That's amazingly cool. The best thing about stores dedicating a lot of space to Joe is that you actually wind up with a diversity of figures. Waves 2/3 and 4 are still shipping, as well as waves 5 and 6. With all the various revisions you wind up with almost the whole line on the shelves. Just like the 80s.

Ahh... how I miss the days when I'd walk into a toystore (or any other store, for that matter) and find Joes like that.

Man I have not even seen one peg full at this point, yep its a downer.

I can't even find one sigle torpedo, or sno-job, or IG Destro, or Rock N Roll, or BA Cobra Commader - yet you guys are swimming in them!

My stores have 3 or 6 pegs max. But the is always barely enough figures to cover half of a peg.

Man! I just went to the wal-mart down the road and they didn't even have a section set aside for gi joes, let alone have any in stock! It's so frustrating not to beable to find any Joes when every store has a huge selection of star wars figures.

I hate going down the action figure aisle because I pass the same HUGE unchanging mass of the same Spider-Man figure (probably 4-5 columns of pegs) to go find the one for Joes that's empty most of the time.

I really want to get a job as a purchasing agent for a major retailer because it seems like they just can't screw up since it seem things never change.

- Hrm... G.I. Joe can't stay on the pegs.
- Really?
- Yes... look, it sells out within days. Maybe if you bought more of it you could make money!
- Ok, I'll put in an order for an extra case worth, though it's going to be tight on my budget with the pallet of Spider-Man and wrestling figures that I'm ordering.
