Got my Breaker/Destro pack the other day and have been looking at other people's reviews. So many people are bemoaning Breaker's head being SO much larger than other 25th figures, that I'd like to put his head in perspective (Note that I don't know how to attach images to threads, so I'll just be explaining):

The Snake-Eyes body that Breaker's torsos are from is taller than the orginal Breaker mold.

The legs/arms of the 25th Breaker are from the 25th Duke, which are longer than SE's, making Breaker that much taller/longer than the '82 mold.

If you try an '82 helmet on the 25th Breaker, you will find that it has more wiggle room than the one he's packaged with. This means that the 25th head is actually smaller than the head to the significantly shorter figure. Note that this size helmet works not only with the '82 figures, but several figures down the line as well.

This indicates to me that Breaker's proportions (at least his head's) are fairly realistic. Let's keep in mind that hats, as well as other headger, come in different sizes for a reason. Different people have different size heads, ask anyone who's tried on varying sizes of football helmets.

Breaker is just fine. Please consider not only what I've pointed out, but that as long as Major Storm is part of G.I.Joe history, the term "melon-head" should be used VERY sparingly.

I agree. It's not that Breaker's head is big, it's that everyone else's head trends too small. The bbi/Fov head size is proper 18th, imho. The Joe line has very rarely made properly-sized heads for 18th bodies; most consistenly in the 90s RAH period.

I had a buddy in basic that had a nugget so big, they had to custom make his kevlar helmet, and he carried it with him from post to post instead of turning it in and drawing a new one from C.I.F. at the next post. His name was Klimkewicz but we called him Bowling Ball. The drill sergeants called him Bucket. Seriously, he looked like a Mini-mates.

Hehehe. Big heads. They happen.

I think Breaker's head is less of a problem than the Duke hands which make him look like he's got monkey arms. I swapped his hands with Beach-Head gloves, which solved that problem and let him hold his guns to boot.

I think I'll like the big head on Crankcase better than Breaker because that figure had a sort of melon-head feel back in the day.

Breaker, however, didn't. And I was bummed that they went with beardless comic Breaker instead of bushy cartoon Breaker. That's personal preference, though.

I'm not really sure Breaker's head is so out of proportion with the rest of line. I mean, yeah, at first gland, I thought, wow... But I just compared him to the likes of the 'Noks, Twins, and Ace, and it turns out the 'Noks and Twins at least also have larger heads. Comparing him with Rock N Roll....that's when I realized Breaker's head isn't so huge as RnR's head is too small and out of proportion with his body.



That would be my personal preference, too....but you have to admit, he came in a comic pack. I'll be fixing that anyway.

Breaker's head fit's really nicely on the SHS Mole man head, kind of like a little person, given the MM's costume I think of him as a doctor good or bad who know's maybe even a midget wrestler for the JCW

human beings have different sized heads, big and small. I don't know what the huge outcry is.

Besides, people have put up with ARAH heads all these years. . .

As someone who nearly wears an 8 in fitted caps, I rather enjoy a more normal looking head. Its a cool thing that we get some size diversity since its the same body over and over

After playing with the figure a bit and looking it over I think the "melon-head" syndrome is more a matter of his facial proportions than anything else. In proportion to the rest of his face, his nose is pretty small, his eyes are narrow and his jawline rivals Jay Leno's. That combined with the half-assed facial hair and being on one of the smaller torsos makes his head appear larger than it actually is. Yeah its bigger than others in the line but I've gotten used to it.
