And when was the last time they had a chance to learn about him? Kids care about what they're exposed to, firstly; and this movie will no doubt come with a big push (and it'll obviously help if the movie kicks as much ass as it looks to kick).

Seriously here, what's Pirates of the Caribbean got that Indiana Jones doesn't to say whether kids will dig it?

If Big H thought IJ was going to fail, they would not have planned a wave for each movie to be released throughout the summer and into the fall. They're just waiting for the movie's release date to grow closer.

A plot? Ummm, no. Lets see...

A story you can easily follow? Hmm, nope.

Characters you can get attached to? "LASER BLAST", no.

Last time they had a chance to learn about him? 1989. I dunno, I personally wouldn't be too excited for a part 4 of something that occured 10-15 years before I was born. I know MANY 20 somethings that love Star Wars, but also an equal amount that couldn't care less and don't get it, because they didn't grow up with it and don't realize the impact it had on movie making in general.

Indy has had lmuch ess exposure since 1989.

I still think it'll do VERY well, but I wouldn't count on kids to make a huge impact. Of course, I have nothing to back that statement up with, just a guess on my part. My daughter is almost 9 and she likes Indy cause I watched it with her one night and she fell in love with it. There are many inappropriate scenes from all 3 movies though, and I plan to see this next one first before I take her to see it.

Exactly.

My kids have seen 1 and 3 (2 is a little intense IMHO) and honestly couldn't care less. It's not got anything that would make it interesting to a child. Which is fine because the movies are aimed at adults.

The BEST shot Indy has to make an impact with kids is the Lego Indiana Jones video game. Once that's out I'd expect a surge in Lego sales, but it won't translate to these figures.

My prediction: These figures will sell briskly to adult collectors at first, but once everybody has the few they want it will die a quick and painful death. I'm sure a lot of people will be collecting them all, but a lot more (Like me, I only want a few fodder figs) will just get an Indy and a bad guy and call it good.

That's funny.

I think the line is a toss-up. It's clearly got retail support because of the variety of vehicle offerings. But that doesn't mean we won't wind up with clearance aisles full of cargo trucks.

God forbid THAT happens. Or a clearance aisle full of Nazi figures.

On a serious note, I do remember 100s of Toht figures being at my La Mirada, CA TRU clear up till 1987/88, and The Streets Of Cairo and Cargo Trucks. I did pick up the Streets of Cairo for like $4, but at $9.99 the truck was too rich for my blood.

Yes I could kick myself for not picking up one single Indy in the DAK uniform when KB had them on clearance for something less than a buck!
They had tons of them to.

Perhaps we will with any luck. I would happily pick those up!

I just hope they get around to making a Willie Scott figure so that I can put a tiny piece of tape over her mouth.

You have serious issues, you know that Sputnik?

Lance Sputnik: 3 3/4" bondage enthusiast.

Yeah, because being unwashed, drunk, and ambiguously gay makes for a good role model

Whereas with Indy, you get only-occassionally-unwashed-when-on-a-dig, book-learnified, and hittin' that hot Nazi ass; which is a much better role model, imho.
