Didn't see a thread with a link to these yet, my apologies if someone beat me to it.

That face sculpt on Red Star is awesome.

Love that CP Firefly. Also love that CP Firefly's gear could lead to Shockwave or Mercer.

Not sure about Shippy's blue hat though. :-(

I'm glad that the comic packs are really easy to find in comparison to the single carded figures, because those six figures are simply amazing...the single carded ones, still not so much. The Viper looks a bit better from that angle, though.

Looking at the picture, I'm almost convinced that Copperhead's helmet is all one piece with his head. That makes me sad.

Do Firefly's goggles come off?

Must... have... twelve dozen vipers...

I'm excited about TF Flint, Arctic Snakes and the Firefly/SS pack (for accessories).

The Duke/Red Star pack also looks like fun. Duke looks to be good fodder, Red Star looks nice on his own.

The rest are fairly meh, though I'll likely snag Major Bludd even though he seems pretty lackluster.

It's too bad, since these are cast plastic, that none of the crotches are fixed. Harumph. I though we'd see a fixed Duke crotch.

I think in this round, the comic pack figures come out ahead. That firefly is just bad-ass, and so is Storm Shadow, and especially their gear! The one thing that irritates me to no end is how Red Star's arms are "cut" to swivel. Makes him look like cheap knock off POS figure! Really if the designers had an ounce of aesthetic sensibilities, they would have made the swivel joint where the sleeves end.

But that Firefly!

So why go to the trouble of molding new arms for Flint and then making them as over muscled as Shipwreck's? All these arm swaps are gonna leave me with a pile of Tomax and Xamot parts . . .

Those are the same Duke arms that have plagued a lot of figures!
We need a strike team to go into the factory & destroy that mold! :shifty:

Take this SS head http://www.yojoe.com/action/08/stormshadow25.shtml & switch it with the wave 4 CP version. Instant DDP Sei Tin!
Yes Firefly's goggles do come off. Previous pics showed him without goggles. I too am thinking of customizing him into Shockwave.
How much would it have cost Hasbro to make one new head mold? That Shipwreck could have easily been Cutter.
Same thing with CP Duke. New head mold... instant Short Fuze instead of another Duke. I suppose it would also need a new webgear mold.

I'm loving those comic packs more and more the more I see of them.

And some of those Wave 8 single packs that left me flat at first are starting to grow on me.

Too bad Bludd's still so fugly, though.

Actually, the Python Officer's crotch looks different. The Toy Fair version doesn't look fixed, but this new shot does!

Flint was shown to have a fixed crotch (ala Rock-n-Roll) at Toy Fair.

I hope we end up getting that one!! What a disappointment if we don't!

I really like the "As seen in the GI Joe Cartoon" and "As Seen in the GI Joe Comic" bubbles.

I totally agree with you. The only reason I can think of is maybe they don't think comic packs starring Short Fuze and Cutter would sell as well as Shippy/Duke. You know, core characters and all that crap.

Man... That Copperhead... He is more awesome every time I see him. He's been my most anticipated since we first saw pictures of these. He's so awesome, he's going to come to your house and smack you around and go :copperhead: See! I was ALWAYS a badass!

I really like that Hasbro is keeping the Python Patrol figure the Officer, and not trying to correct themselves after all this time. I only have a few problems with him. One the helmet, would have been cooler to have the corrected Officers helmet. Next would be the knee pads, I hope they are painted like the original. I don't really care for the solid black ones. If they don't than many of my Legion Troopers will be getting the black knee pads and my Python Officers will get the yellow ones with some green paint to touch them up.

Over all this wave of figure and comic packs are cool. I wonder how far they will carry the Python Patrol and Tiger Force sub-lines though?
