If I read that right, it means we'll only continue to see classics based 25th anniversary stuff through the first half of next year. I wonder if they'll come back after a wave or two of movie toys?

They'll probably come back after the movie figs....but I'll bet they're all re-releases of all the 25th joes we've already got. That way they can inexpensively release more toys after the movie.

I bet you'll see a ton of Cartoon releases after the movie as well....repainted 25th cartoon figs are pretty cool.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a similar formula that they did with the Transformers movie where we got Classics up until the movie, then mostly movie stuff, then a big return of Classics, etc... the following year...

Some decent answers. Big couple of weeks of news up ahead, it seems.

From Cool Toy Review's Q&A:

"Cool Toy Review: Will you be carrying over lessons learned from feedback received from the 25th line into the movie line, i.e. better articulation for action poses, stronger hands, etc.? Speaking of the 25th Anniversary line, will some version of the 25th line run concurrently with the movie line? We'd hate to see the "classic" character releases come to a complete halt while popularity momentum continues to build.

Hasbro: The movie line will feature a blend of movie and classic characters and is being led by the same team which brought you 25th anniversary. This line will delight both collectors and kids!"

Like Hawk said, kinda how they handled Transformers movie toys and also the way they seem to be doing Indiana Jones too.

Cobra Vamp = Stinger = [LASER BLAST]'...

With the exception of Hasbro confirming the Cobra CLAWs and Stinger as upcoming product, it seems like the regular "wait and see" responses.

Also, haven't we been told, multiple times, that the current line (25th/GIJoe vs Cobra) would continue up to the movie (meaning the first two quarters of 2009). Why does Hasbro keep getting asked this question? They have their plans for the current line until the Movie, and right now they'd be starting development on the Movie line... it's unlikely they have any clue what they'll be doing after the movie for a long time. So why can't we just accept what we've been told, and enjoy what we get while we get it?

Cool Toy Review: Here's a few of the most frequently asked after figures...any chance we will see them in the 25th ANniversary line? Wet Suit, Thrasher, Zarana, Blowtorch, Mutt & Junkyard?

Hasbro: Two out of five isn't bad.

Interesting..which 2?

Well unless they have a cartoon series in the works they are not telling us about or the movie is filled with as many background characters as a Star Wars movie they are going to have to mine something for GI Joe toys. Sure aren't going to stop selling them as long they continue to go off the shelves.

With things about the scale I sort of wonder if we are going to get movie related 12" and 8" figures as they attempt to cash in on what I hope is really popular movie.

My money is on Blowtorch and Mutt & Junkyard.

Maybe Wetsuit instead of Blowtorch,... but Zarana/Thrasher have little to no chance of making it.

I agree with Stealth Viper. Mutt and Junkyard have popped up in the Wal-Mart computer, and Blowtorch or Wet-Suit seem like the most likely of the rest.

"GIJCC Question 4: Now that there's going to be a Tiger Force FLINT with short sleeves and gloves, can we expect the original version with these features?
Hasbro Answers: We have heard the fans loud and clear on the need for a classic Flint with gloves…sit tight."

AWESOME.
