Blegh. I hope not. This is not the direction I want my GI Joes to go. If they do that then that's fine, just make it a seperate line. So I don't have to... whine.

Yes.

If this seriously is a MASK figure then I am a happy boy!

Flint in Cobra gear? I can do that right now! Just pop a couple of heads off and presto, not only do I have a Flint in Cobra gear, I also have a Cobra in Flint gear! And Duke, Hawk, Flash, etc., all in Cobra gear!

Just kidding, I'll buy them all up anyways!

That "Trakker" mention is interesting. I'm a bit of a MASK fan myself. Oh, if only these were traditional-style.

Released in special packaging in Spring 2009, eh? Proof that they plan to keep that line going even as no doubt the movie line hits.

Some of these more recent additions, though -- Flint in Cobra uniform? Okay, in the animated series he did appear in that, but that's a quick "frankenstein".

And I can't help but envision "Swamp Zartan" like this -- "With Real Swamp Smell!" :-D You'd've thought they'd've learned after tge Mega-Monsters... Hopefully this is just some unusual color scheme...

I'm honestly surprised they've taken this long to get around to a Cobra Eel. The original version of that figure is very popular.

my thoughts exactly Joeczar - can see Hasbro definitely squeezing every bit of juice out of that cobra the enemy/officer mold - a Flint headswap isn't beyond them lol

What are the odds that the para-trooper would be a Strato-Viper or AVAC? Probably minimal. I really like the inclusion of Mutt & Junkyard and of course everyone's favourite water-base army builder EELs.

Bit disappointed that the rest of the '85 class didn't get fleshed out - BBQ is the base mold for an Airtight, Bazooka needs Alpine, and Dusty is an icon on the team...oh yeah and Quick Kick is needed too.

Personally I'm crossing my fingers for a Recondo - you know how wicked a Recondo would look in 25A style?

Here's hoping that 2009 will produce those figures before the Movie comes out and we're flooded with a million "movie" figures in black leather suits like the X-Men movie figures.

Where did they go with adding Action Man to the joe line?

If it is indeed what we are making it out to be, It's just a "one off" to cross attract old MASK fans to the Joe product and gage interest in MASK as a property for the next "80's toy childhood raping movie exploitation".

Raptor's line of reasoning makes sense. And I actually got a kick out of Action Man showing up in the line, although in fairness, there was a somewhat closer relation to G.I.Joe there than there is with MASK or some other Hasbro properties of the past (although Checkpoint of the COPS is actually Beach-Head's son...)

I'm betting it's just Tracker. Misspellings are nothing new in these listings.

I'm wondering about 2009, though... From the way this is worded, it seems to imply that the 25th line will be ENDING except for these particular ten figures. I know we'll have a movie line coming out, but I was hoping this one would continue, as well.

Oh, and we all know what's going to happen now: all the fans of Wraith are going to go insane voting for him and begging others to vote for him not realizing that we're already GETTING a Wraith figure this year. So we'll get stuck with a Wraith repaint next year and Hasbro will be imagining that Wraith is the most popular GI Joe character ever.

It'd be awesome to get a ten army builders. Bats, Vipers, Troopers, Ninjas, CGs, Snow Serpents etc.

True, but the fact that it replaced a listing named "MASK" seems like too much of a coincidence to be ignored.

Agreed. And also consider the fact that, for all intents and purposes, MASK was Kenner's attempt to cash in on the success of both G.I.Joe and Transformers with a concept that blended both -- human specialists (admittedly non-military) operating transforming vehicles.

If all of the Hasbro-created properties (G.I.Joe, Transformers, Action Man, heck, throw in Visionaries, COPS, whatever) that could to one degree or another PLAUSIBLY exist within the same "Hasbro-verse" do so, then it stands to reason (as much reason as this gets, anyway), that the Kenner-created properties now also exist within that universe. That would include MASK, and as such, Matt Trakker.

The thing is, if the character is kind fo an easter egg kind of thing where the character is supposed to be the Matt Trakker, will it matter if he doesn't come with blonde hair, in a grey jump suit, or with a big removable helmet/mask thing? If it is Trakker in name only will any of us care?

I always used "Miles Mayhem" as a (Napoleonic) rogue scientist in my Joe play, so I would welcome the introduction of some MASK members. I remember being very happy to receive "Boulder Mountain" -- in addition to Dagobah and Endor, this rounded out my trio of non-Joe line "Joe" playsets growing up.

Does Hasbro still have the rights to the name "tracker"? Maybe that's all this is.
