this WIP speeder bike marks the beginning of my new verse, a star wars meets G.I.Joe meets firefly meets lord of the rings meets battlestar galactica short of verse. I don't have a name for it. It also marks my first ever stitches, 11 in all, all for the sake of a custom. I can literally say i put blood and sweat into this (it hasn't made me cry yet)

Me too. It is sort of like the pod racers and sort of like a speeder bike. You have very much capture the space opera feel here. I will be looking foward to seey more here.

To me driving those things would be scary as all get'out.

I feel the character would look cooler if he rode it like a chopper bike, big handle bars and leaning backwards... would look tougher and less awkward that way.

But it is lookign great.

thanks for the replies.
I agree, this thing would be scary as hell to drive, i was going for a sort of pod racer meets swoop feel, so awesome that you picked up on it.
I was also going back and forth between having the driver lean back and lean forward. I want it to look like it was hand built for speed, so comfort isn't really an option, but at the same time, i want it to look like the driver/pilot lives off this bike, so he wouldn't want to be leaning forward hunched like that all the time. I'll play around with it.

any ideas for a color scheme?

Looks pretty good so far!

It's funny, but I used alot of the same exact pieces many years ago to make a swoop:
