Yay, I got around to finishing a new Joe custom. Or at least, close enough to have it critiqued. :)

Here's the first in possibly a series, for a fun episode I'm tooling around in my head. The basic idea is, in their free time, which of the Joes would form a garage band? The first one, of course, has to be Rock N Roll.

With my 'uniformed' Rock, I got away with keeping the Hollow Point hat by painting it into a BDU cap (a la v2 Rock). However, ever since Catching Up, where I placed Hollow Point into Rock and Clutch's poker circle, I couldn't justify a mufti Rock wearing the same cap as HP. How would anyone tell them apart? So, I trimmed back the hat and sculpted a forehead and hair.

Chest has nothing done to it, while the legs are painted denim. For the monkey-boy Duke lowers, I trimmed back the wrists so Rock wouldn't be able to scratch his knees standing up. :)

Oh, and the bass is freehand sculpt around a paper clip spine.

Looks good so far.

As for other JOEs I would suggest:

Crazylegs (keyboards)
Heavy-Duty (Classic Guitar)
Shockwave (Vocals)

and if you're looking for a Drummer I would suggest Snake-Eyes since he shows up in almost every sub-group and therefore would HAVE to be included because there has to be yet again one more Snake-Eyes figure...

And somehow Snow Job cons the guys into allowing him to be their manager...

(but I did want to include Heavy-Metal Thunder!)

This is a fun idea. The guitar needs work. Maybe try to cut random plastic parts with your dremel and glueing them together as opposed sculpting parts. The figure is great, and I will be checking back for the rest.

There was a Stikfa girl that came with a whole set of instruments that would be perfect for this project. A guitar, keyboards, sax, mic stand - no drumkit tho. I also recall a PlayMobil guitar that even had a flexi plastic strap.

And may I suggest PsycheOut as the lighting guy?
