Spun out of the movie, perhaps? Not sure. The latest Transformers incarnation isn't. Then again, Transformers has had a lot more animation than G.I.Joe. Wonder what the animation style will be.

If it's not as juvenile in tone as the almost-unwatchable dreck that was Sigma 6 AND the animation isn't abstract "LASER BLAST" like the new TF cartoon is ruined by, I say a new cartoon might be a good idea (and highly likely).

I'm gazing into my crystal ball

I am seeing...

Highly stylized designs...think Bruce Timm meets, Transformers Animated, meets Pokemon.

Stories will be absurdly based on pokemon with the fast flashes and mind destroying storylines.

There will be the obligatory cute character who no one really finds cute except the cartoon networks executives and Hasbro executives

Lastly most of us won't like it.

Who knows though my crystal ball may be cloudy and I might be wrong.

It's not cloudy. It's just showing reruns...of Sigma 6.

Well, I hope the opening theme music doesn't sound like a Bryan Adams song they did with Sigma 6. LOL

The Transformers theme music is actually a really close update of the original. Maybe we'll get lucky and have a cool update of the original theme song.

I'm gonna have to call B.S. on that statement.
At their core, really, all cartoons are abstract, because they don't 100% follow the real world. If they did, cartoon characters would look like those priceless paintings you see in a museum that LOOK like real people.
As for "LASER BLAST", I don't see what's wrong with the style that's any more wrong with any other cartoon? Odd proportions? Batman's inhumanly squared jaw or Tick's humongous chin can quickly come to mind. Teen Titan characters had stylized designs which very few seemed to mind. Anime characters with the giant eyes and the overdone facial expressions have broken more laws of physics than Animated ever has.

I didn't say it had to be realistic. Abstract can be good, as in the case of the animation of Batman/Superman/JL/JLU.

but that new Transformers toon is so ugly, so badly drawn, so misshapen that the show is impossible for me to watch. it looks like it was drawn by people who don't have the qualifications to be professional artists.

and just because a painting's got realistic look people doesn't make it priceless.

I would love a Joe toon with the style of the JLA New Frontier movie. Man, that would be hot!

IF there is too be a new GI Joe cartoon (Which I highly doubt) my guess is that it will:

1. Be animated similarly to Transformers: Animated.
2. Follow it's own continuity loosely based on the movie, just like Transformers: Animated.
3. Be highly humorous and kid friendly.

In short: Transformers: Animated but with GI Joe. Which isn't neccesarily a bad thing.

Gotta agree with Night Force Cynic here. Shows like Superman, Batman, and JLU worked because of the overall quality of the product, and the consistency of the stylizing. And somehow, it's a little easier to pull that sort of thing off with human characters than with robots. I've had a lot of people tell me that the storylines of the new Transformers cartoon are top-notch, and perhaps they are. I just can't get my head around the designs.
