So where is Headman? I kind of expected him to be in the set too.

I guess it's just too easy to find Headman to warrent including him in the set. Or he'll be a meet exclusive.

What I want to know is what's reflecting in Gristle's sunglasses.

Hopefully, he's dead... Or I have a sneaking suspicion he'll be an exclusive.

what's up with all the brick motif?

it's on the border of the box, as well as in the eyes of the skull (behind 2nd fig revealed)

could this mean... playset?

..for the low low price of $500, no doubt.

Yeah, I stared at that pic last night for about an hour. The BATs are some kind of silver/grey color. Their body mold is some kind of frankenstein mixture of V1 and V2 parts. The Box depicts a flamethrower on one hand and the claw on the other. I dunno how they will pull this off. I think half the BATs may have the flamethrower on one hand and the other half will have the claw on the other. But based on the pic, the legs, waist and torso are all V2.

Actually one day I just played around with a mold I had of the claw and made it fit with the V2 arm, its probably uber simple to do in a factory (feet hole have been resized for larger foot pegs in exisiting molds. Comic packs show us tons of examples of this).

So really I don't think its a stretch to say they just did a minor (and I mean very minor) retool here. The reverse (as I undersand it, to make the Flamethower to be compatable with the V1 thus making the Flamethrower attachment much smaller) would be much harder.

Feet holes have not been enlarged ever Zed...if you look closely a number of the comic pack fgures have had entirely new parts tooled up for them.

My bet...and it'd be extra lame if I'm right...is that the Con bat's won't have interchangeable weapon arms.

Because the retooling the attachments would require cutting a 3 peice mold. and MC/FP only ever has one mold made up per convention. have one tool made for a new set of Lower arms, and a New head makes the most sense...especialy given the Club's track record.

I think these BATs are bordering on the level of an epic failure.

There's not enough detail in Gristles glasses to make out a reflection...I think most of what you're seeing is th eyebrow drawn by the artist.

I think you guys are right with the third Joe being Recoil. I think that'd be awesome. It's Recoil or MM Clutch, I think.

I actually think this set will be cool judging by the art. Since some of you don't think you'll like the BATs, just send them to my house so you won't have to look at them anymore. It's a big favor, but I'm willing to do it for any of you. ;)

4? Headhunter x2, Gristle x1, Headhunter Stormtrooper x5, BAT x5?

Based on the box art... we see:
Gristle x1,
Headhunter x2,
Headhunter Stormtrooper x6,
BAT x5 (wasn't supposed to be 6?)

14 or 15 figs? + 3 GI Joes

A) I count 16 figs on the box art.
B) It wouldn't be difficult at all to drill out the attachments to fit the v2's plug, making the need to remold them moot.

There are probably 18 total "figures" in the boxart, but the 3 Joes are in an additional set, so that'll give you the fifteen figure rundown of the set itself (which has never changed in the 6 years these sets have been available).

There are always 15 figures per boxed set.

1 - Gristle
2 - Headhunter Guards
6 - Headhunter Stormtroopers
6 - BATs

15 - Total

Justin

and reel those ideas in to think along the lines of the smaller sets like bivouac, rifle range, etc. unfortunately i don't have room to set them up, but one of them does/did have some brick to the set

Um...for 1 or two custom BATS...drilling isn't difficult...but thats not how manufactured toys work....with a run of what 750 x 6 bats x2 for the bagged sets, x2 for the number of attachments x3 for the other possible attachments...makes it a touch more difficult.

Also modified attachments wouldn't explain the bats having attachments on both arms...no ARAH arms did that...

V1 ARAH BATs would have made tis set...its still cool...but I'm prepping myself for the worst...which I've found to be the best policy when dealing with the club's exclusives.

Unless they used the lower right arm on both arms. The rivet would be on the wrong side but I'm not sure how noticeable that would be. I've never done a lower arm swap.

Again from a manufacturing stand point they could make it so the rivet is put in the right way on the reverse arm. But then you still have an arm with no hand attachment since no left hand was ever made for the v.1 BAT.
