I was just talking to Grippen about this. If it goes a few more wave I really hope to see the Nazi plane and mechanic from ROTLA. I don't think that's asking for too much :-D .

Unless the new movie is a huge hit, I think it will fizzle out before next Xmas. As far as I know, therea re no plans for a sceond trilogy, like SW. I can see a spinoff using Shia LaBoeuf as the main character, though.

i think there should be a modern take on Indiana Jones
that utilizes some of the past but with a hipper new twist.
Maybe battling extremists, neo-nazis, etc.

That would be cool IMHO.

I think the line has enough steam to last at least into next year. After that, though, you start to run out of characters (and variations of characters) to make into figures except for "soldiers" and "thugs". I don't see them tapping the YIJ Chronicles for figures...they're just not that well recognized.

S'alright though...we've already gotten more than I would ever have hoped for from an Indy toy line. If it doesn't last until Xmas, I'm still pleased that at least this much was made.

I honestly do not think this line has legs either. We might luck out and get 2 years out of it, but I think that'll be about it.

As long as all the first, second, and third tier characters are made, I'll be fine. I mean, we need Alfred Molina for sure. Jock and Reggie would be nice, but Jock needs a fishing pole accessory :D. I don't see me ever needing the Army intelligence guys or the "chilled monkey brains" guy; don't go all Mos Eisley Cantina on us.

I don't think this line has much more then 2 years max to it. I like the line but Indy basically wore the same costume in each film (unlike Star Wars) and there weren't really tons and tons of characters.

Lucas hinted that they might continue films with Shia Lebeauf. However for me Indiana Jones is Harrison Ford. I have no interest in seeing the further adventures of Mutt Williams. I don't think Lebeauf has the star power that Ford had either. Nothing against the kid personally but there is only one Indiana Jones for me just like their is only one James Kirk. You put another actor in there...just not the same.

it'll depend more on toy sales than movie sales. I could see it expanding just by support of the army toy collectors. Its an excuse to create 334 scale WWII vehicles and accurate looking internationnal characters. Two things we haven't seen a whole lot of in 334 scale to date. Add the movie die-hards and u have a winning market.

I think you need to check out Forces of Valor and 21st Century's offerings. Lots of WWII items that are much more accurate than the stuff made for Indy. BBI Elite Force are still around, and Dragon also made WWII figures a few years back.

I think u need to look back at where I said WWII vehicles - I did not say figures - And I said international figures (i.e. little ghandi looking figures in robes, etc) . There have been very few WWII vehicles available in the $10 - $20 range over the past decade.

perhaps I should have explained - the people who own all those pre-existing figures are the ones who will desire WWII vehicles.

If it sticks around long enough for them to make a flying wing for Raiders I'll be happy. They also need to make:

Belloq in excavation gear
Col. Dietrich ( The head German in Raiders)
The Mechanic
Toth(Duh!)
Indy in German Soldier disguise
Capt. Katanga

That's good, for now.......
