Don't tell Sputnik - but I never really liked Mindbender. Maybe it was the gay mustache. Maybe it was the gay outfit. Maybe it was because he was so over-the-top he seemed like a big purple joke. (Or maybe it's because I still can't find the right parts for a custom Mindbender that I like :P )

But I did really enjoy Dr. Venom. He wasn't a Mad Scientist, he was just an evil genius. And a weasely bastard on top of that. I figure I found a way to resurrect Kwinn, why not his arch-nemesis? I've been trying for years to come up with a decent custom version of him. In fact, my first-ever use of Super-Sculpey yielded a pretty decent Venom head (a POTF2 Tarkin head with sculpted hair.) Unfortunately, while putting this custom together last night, I chipped off a good chunk of the Sculpey (which is why I use Green Stuff only nowadays ;) ). But the Tarkin head as-is works perfectly anyway. Once I discovered that Golden Compass Sam Elliott's duster made a perfect lab coat, I knew I was all set.

So here he is:

Parts list:
Head - Tarkin
Upper body/arms - Cobra Trooper
Legs - CC (modded)
Coat - Golden Compass coat

Kwinn (for those who've forgotten) - SGT Savage D-Day

And then there's my finished Indiana Jones. I showed the WIP here:

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=8157 because I didn't

want anyone beating me to the punch (JFAK :P ) I've had him done since last night (as always, I got impatient and started

painting before the Green Stuff was fully cured), but I spent all day today looking for the toys necessary for the dio shots (something John also beat me to - but I claim credit for the idea first!) :P

Love the Indy figure and the Dr. Venom is nice. That makes me want to go back and redo my Dr. Venom in 25th style now.

That Indy is freaking awesome. It's what Hasbro should have done with at least one version of the figure.

Indiana Jones is bad ass.

Dr. Venom is great.

Kwinn, I think, could be bulkier. Right now he just looks big.

Nice customs Chief. Those photos make me want to buy that truck after all. By the way, don't you just love how the legs have swivel joints at the knee in addition to the ankle? It makes for much better posing than a mid-thigh swivel.

Indy is great. You were able to make a cool figure even better.

Dr. Venom is ajust such a neat recipe I keep going back to it. I mean you could switch that head out with anything and have a great generic scientist. I would army build that figure if it were ever released.

Kwinn is ok. Nothing fancy but still plain and simple works here. Although he lacks his ugly mug.

Thanks dudes! Borrow away - that's why I post 'em :D

As for Kwinn - he was churned out back during CC2 for one of the custom challenges. I may go back and fix him up at some point, but for my purposes (and the fact that he's a giant), I'm happy with him for now.

Now I just have to wait to get a jacket/vest that fits the Shippy torso better so Indy doesn't look like he's slumping. Those dang Indy figures' shoulders are just too friggin' narrow.

Thanks again for the kind words!
