For anyone who's keeping track, mold use:

Nem Enforcer: Serpentor Torso (upper and lower), biceps, forearms, thighs, possibly feet. New: hands, head, knees, webgear, backpacks.

Falcon: Duke/Flint body with new head and lower legs, but probably old feet. New webgear, backpack, knife and antenna and whatever else he's got (that silver thing???), but old shotgun mold.

Tripwire: Flash torso, new head, lower legs and feet (Destro lower legs would be too long).

IG: BACC torso, new head, webgear (but modified IG Destro scabbard). Looks like both guns are new.

CC: CG torso, single-pack CC head, new belt, new sword, new cape. Reused pistol.

you beat me too this.

NE: Definitely Serpentor. Hands look really similar, at least the fingers. Seems like the could be based on the Serpentor ones

Tripwire- Looks like the could be Flash feet, just with different shins. The knees look like Flash's as well.

Great list btw.

As a massive Iron Grenadier fan I'm pretty disappointed in that. The head looks great and I dig the new sash, but that body isn't anywhere near the IG design. I'm especially saddened, since I'm pretty sure that Destro will just be the IG Destro in a tweaked deco. For a more accurate, and equally cost-effective IG, just put that head and sash on the v4 Snake-Eyes body, maybe with Tomax/Xamot lower legs for a bit of variety. What we're getting is just lazy. I love the Battle Armor CC mold, but this isn't the way to use it. I don't have photoshop, anyone up for trying my idea? http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode= ... 00&start=0
Tell me that wouldn't be better. Guess I'll just have to hold out hope for a single carded version using some new/different parts.

I'm ambivalent on LJ, I know I'll end up with one regardless. Tripwire looks like a decent base for a good Tripwire, but I think I'll have to tweak him some. I dig that CC, the CG mold works pretty well and I like the new webgear he has. I'll have to sand off the leg holster, but it'll make a nice dressy CC. Nemesis is a good re-sue of the Serpentor mold. I'll just need to come up with a way to incorporate him into my Joeverse without including Cobra-La. Though perhaps Hama's comic will help with that . . . Falcon works. The removable radio is cool, (the silver thing Dasaffe) and I can probably find some custom uses for that scarf too. Decent effort, but there's really no excuses for the less than accurate mold choices here (Tripwire could/should have the HISS driver non-padded version of the torso for one). I give this wave, as is, a C+

Let's not forget that these are prototypes, i'm sure they will change some things down the line.

I don't know, I think the CC body works for the IG. It's different, but it works as a high tech armored soldier.

Then again, I hate the Night-Viper/IG from the 05 Con set which is nearly universally loved, so what do I know?

Actually they look like unpainted production figures, which means these are probably final.

i dunno, I think the use of the BACC for the Iron Grenadier is great. It certainly makes them look a lot more battle ready and menacing whereas the original looked more like he was wearing a funky dress uniform. If nothing else, just call him an Iron Anvil and your problem is pretty much solved.

Nem Enforcer: Not bad at all.

Falcon: A Duke repaint, but I expected that. Not Bad. Would have preferred short sleeve arms. New head and scarf. Sweet.

Tripwire: I like the new parts. I don't like the Flash torso, but then again, I didn't like it on Flash either.

IG: Teh SuXXors!!11 But seriously, the new parts are great and will look greater on some other figure.

CC: Would have preferred a helmeted version, but not bad at all. Looks like and early comic version of CC.

LJ: Cartoon LJ. Cool. Isn't this already coming in a boxed set?

Normally I'd say enough with Cobra Commanders, but this one looks just SWEET! That IG is killer too. The rest are ok too. BUT, did those [censored] losers give Falcon, one of the coolest Joes ever the Duke arms?!?! WHY?!?!?! Now the coolest of 'em all won't even be able to hold his bad-ass accessories properly.

Seriously, I'm starting to think its time for an open letter or a petition or nasty threats to the design team concerning burning the molds for those barely functional arms.

Hasbro is expert at coming sooo close to true coolness then messing it up. Sigh...

Sorry guys, I just love Falcon and want him to be perfect.

I was hoping for more from Tripwire, honestly :\ I'll still get him, because I like him well enough and the CC is fresh enough to add to the pile, especially with those cool accessories.

Anyone that feels like army building that NE can share their Falcon with me too ;)

I hope we get that Lady J available all by her lonesome at some point...

Fantastic!
Too bad Falcon doesn't use the upcoming Flint arms...

All I need is a 25th Ghostrider's body to put a Falcon head on it to have a 25th style rendition of my childhood Falcon :shifty:

Veeeery interesting...

Since '04 the Comic Packs have been largely repaints, so the use of existing parts doesn't surprise me, though there are some parts I would have preferred to have seen reused.

Falcon using those freaking Duke arms bugs me the most, especially when we see the Viper and Tiger Force Flint using much, MUCH better arms on shelves before these get released. That's really a shame. Falcon is a figure I was so looking forward to, and those arms kind of kill it. I love the other new parts, the head looks great from what we can see of it, and the new webgear will make a good difference. I think I'll be buying an extra Tiger Force Flint and working on my green camouflage paint matching!

Nemesis Enforcer looks pretty freaking cool. Yeah, a lot of Serpentor parts there, but my biggest issue with Serpentor was his hip articulation, and as we've seen those issues have been by and large taken care of. Without that rubber "skirt" thing, too, that won't be an issue here. The secondary pieces look great, I LOVE the wings, and the best part is, at his size, Nemmy will fit in well with the vintage collection, too.

That COBRA Commander is INCREDIBLE. I've been complaining about the overabundance of COBRA Commander figures, especially since a lot of them are largely the same, but this looks like a terrific improvement. It looks as if he stepped out of the pages of Issue #100 with MD Bright drawing that familiar flowing hood. Very cool.

Tripwire is fine...nothing special. I'm surprised the chest pad has the Flash/Grand Slam quilting on it, I thought they retooled that for the HISS Driver. It's tough to make out the details in the head sculpt, but I think it looks great from what I can see. Overall a fairly nice figure, though not especially accurate to the original (which is fine with me in most cases).

Iron Grenadier is a head scratcher. I love the Battle Armor COBRA Commander figure...it poses great, the sculpting is great, everything works well, but I'm just not sure how well it fits with the IG. Hopefully we'll get a better idea once we see some painted samples. It has the potential to be cool (especially with that amazing looking head sculpt and very cool chest strap) but I'm just not quite sold yet.

Interesting stuff, for sure, hopefully we can see some more official and final samples soon.

Justin

Nemisis Enforcer-YEAH Thats an upgrade. THe only Cobra La character I ever liked and I think he looks 20 times better than his original.

Cobra Commander-Honestly I am a bit burned out on CC. Interesting but not great

Iron Grenader-Very Cool, I like.

Tripwire-I like again, want to see him painted though.

Lady Jaye-BEST LJ evar

Falcon-A bit disapointed in resued parts, will reserve final judgement when in hand.

I think they are all awesome!! I am looking forward to the Nem E. the most. I hope they make him a little taller than the other figures.

The IG will be really cool too. I like the Tripwire alot as well.

I'm really surprised by the positive reactions to the IG. A near total BACC repaint doesn't cut it for me on an important troop builder like the IG.

Major Bludd was universally bashed for being a lazy Zartan repaint, but an equally lazy repaint for IG is great? :-/
