Hey guys and gals,
I saw a custom of SE4 on e-bay a while back that was pretty cool, but I decided to go a different way with him. I'm actually a bigger fan of the HOF 12 inch SE modelled after the smaller Joe so I decided to mix the two into one. Though you can't see it (thanks to my not-so-wonderful camera) I've actually made the scars on his face like the 12 inch version. My question is this...

A) Should I leave the mask the way it is?
B) Should I make holes in the existing mask like the original?
C) Sculpt a new lower mask with holes in it?

Thanks for any suggestions in advance. Sorry the pics are crappy (camera does much better outside in daylight).

You should :

D) cut the helmet from a Snow Serpent and fit it with the glasses

BTW awsome custom all the way. The sword holster in the back is very cool.

looks great man. i say go with B) Should I make holes in the existing mask like the original. that would top it off.

Looks great, Brad!

I'd probably switch to a BeachHead head (more rounded at the top than Stormy's) and then either sand down the lower mask & punch holes or sculpt a very thin layer on the lower mask w/ holes.

I do like Fett80's suggestion - when I get back home next weekend I'm going to see how it fits and maybe try it myself.

How did you get the goggles red like that, red Sharpie?

Very cool.

looks pretty nice. I've had plans to do v4, but scrapped it recently. Now I want to do it again. I agree with the Snow Serpent/Snow Wolf suggestion.

I like the idea of the Snow Serpeant mask too. I think that will give you the look you're going for but also add a bit more the holes or sculpting wood.

If you dont mind a little work with the dremel, you could dremel the SE head (commando) out. It can fit over the head like a mask and gives you the feel your after.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I never even thought of the SS mask. I think I may have (crossing-fingers) an extra DTC one from the HTS sale. I really wanted to make it removable, much like the HOF figure. You guys have inspired me!

that's a cool custom, I like it and the removable googles and red makes it that much better. I think the SS mask might be a tad small to fit over the 25th heads though but I could be wrong..

I dig the idea of the snow Serpent mask. I think that will work nicely. I love this guy by the way. I want t av3 Se and I'm definitely taking some ideas away from you.

Thanks for all the helpful feedback. I added a finished figure pic to the original post. Couldn't make the removable lower mask work, but still pretty happy overall.

Brad

glad you're happy with him, he looks just fine. What do you have under the removable webbing though? Is it scupted or something?
Tim

Thanks Tim. I used some gold textured ribbon painted black for underneath the web-gear. I took several coats to really cover it. I think I bought it at WM a few years back.
