It is 2015 and GI Joe and Cobra have been fighting since the early 80's. All Joes and Cobras have aged appropriately, and younger characters have gained rank. Hawk has retired. Duke is now an adviser, but seldom fights anymore. Lt. Falcon is now Col. Falcon and is the leader of the Joes, Flint is now a general and is a member of the jugglers.

Destro and Baroness have retired to their home in Scotland. Their son James McCullen XXV and Alexander McCullen are fighting for control of the family business, MARS.

Cobra Commander is never seen anymore and is no longer active in the daily activities of Cobra, but runs Cobra through a high ranking ruthless Crimson Guardsman (to be named and fleshed out by whoever wants to claim him).
