Y'know the ones I'm talking about, these guys. Aren't they supposed to hit this month? Anybody know more info than that page gives us, like a company perhaps?

The website that had them up for preorder listed them as "Late December." I imagine they'll start showing up right before Christmas, or maybe after.

These arent the wrestlers your looking for AV' but i thought you might want to see them none the less...

http://www.f-net.ne.jp/cl/romando/glorious_muscle.html

Microman came out with their take on this property some time back (months?) and although aesthetically those may be more pleasing to the eye than these...these arent horrible (well that neck joint on the main character is but still..).

I am looking forward to seeing these. Knowing the TRU European buying trends, there is a good chance we will see these in England.

Nice find, Sunny! I dunno about K-Man himself; but the other two do look quite cool. Their chest armor helps hide the lower neck and weird ribcage swivel joints, plus the silver guy's teh hugenormous. What company are making these - Romando? I translated it thru babelfish, but got all kinds of weird phrases everywhere, lol.

Yup, Romando they be. But at $17.00 for KinnikuMan and http://www.hlj.com/product/ROM71212Robin%20Mask, and $23.00 for the big silver Akuma Shogun; I dunno about these guys. What, are they diecast metal or something?

And we've been having this discussion over in the CM's Corp thread, but WTF is up with multiple companies putting out essentially the same product over in Japan? Has Takara lost the K-Man license due to Tomy's incompetence? Why are so many of the 'same' thing coming out when there's no 18th-scale Guyver figs? Where are the 18th-scale figs of all the Macross (or even Gundam) pilots? Where's the rest of Gatchaman in 18th scale? GAH!!!!!

We can get this weirdness, but not the guys I list above? WTF is wrong with Japanese toy collectors?

I can help you with the company. These will be produced by Jakks Pacific as they own the WWE action figure license and are the manufacturers of every other piece of WWE merchandise on that page.

Unless they're somehow able to farm this out to another company?

Nah, Takara and Rommando have shared licenses back and forth for a while and Rommando has held the Kinnikuman license for some time. If these are like their other ones, they're not 1/18. Probably closer to 6 or 7" on them.

Like I say, I ran the page thru Babelfish and got a little bit of good info. It does indeed look like these are 18th scaled:

As to what they are, Capt; perhaps you remember M.U.S.C.L.E. Men figs from the '80s? These are the source characters, super-powered wrestlers from Japan. It's all named after the main character, the caucasian guy in the red trunks, KinnikuMan (which translates as 'Meat Man' in English - make of it what you will). It's a popular property in Japan, and has had some bleed over into America. They're somewhat popular with 18th-scale collectors as the Microman figuresare *great* fodder bodies for customs of superheroes and suchnot.

There's been a lot of talk around other message boards where people can't fathom how Jakks can make DA articulation in 3 3/4" format. And there have been no size-reference pics to verify that these little Build N Brawl dudes are infact this small. So I found this from another website. If you own a Jakks RA or DA figure, this will give you some perspective:

I am hoping to purchase some of these figures too. Maybe they are out in January.

I know about Kinnikuman, I saw the sequel series at my friend's place once, but I was actually wondering what the hell those panty things were. :whistling:

Oh. Well, that's just one of them sorts of things where you just shake your head in consternation and mutter, 'Frickin' weird-ass Japanese dudes'. That's all I got for ya on that matter.
