About a week and a half ago I bought a dvd rom from e-bay called GI Joe comic reference guide. It has full page cover to cover high res scans of

Marvel 1-155 plus the McFarlene issue
All Marvel Special Misssions
All Marvel Action Force
All Marvel European Missions
Order of Battle 1-4
Yearbooks 1-4

All Image/DDP books up to AE 32
Dream Wave Tranformers/ GI Joe

and all the comic commercials

I was blown away when I got it. This is definitely one of my best Joe purchases ever.

Boring moralistic boilerplate:
Even though you got it free, etc. it's still illegal. Scans of old comics are naughty, etc. etc.

Yeah I have no idea how that would harm Marvel now, but just FYI cause I think in general we are not supposed to discuss illegal stuff.

Actually I think scanning old comics is a good idea. Why risk damaging your collection by repeat viewing scan them. For your use only.

It is a good idea if you're scanning them for your personal use. Selling them to others on Ebay for a profit is actually illegal. As for how it hurts Marvel, they look at it as lost sales if they decide to reprint the old issues, especially if there happens to be a movie comimg out soon, where they might decide to reprint TPBs and such.

Also, the DVD includes all DDP issues up to America's Elite Issue 32, which can still be found for sale at your local comic shop, so if you think that doesn't hurt sales, think again.

I guarantee that it won't hurt Marvel one iota.

Because they sold all those comics to Hasbro who now owns them lock, stock, and Roadblock's glowing barrel. Marvel couldn't reprint them if they wanted to, because they no longer own them.

But it could technically hurt Hasbro.
