DEF ain't go nuthin. Those whinning fools can't stop a cab much less Cobra.

Thankfully the civilians have a deffense.

Without further adu I give you -

Grudge Squad
“Hunting the Dreadnoks is our game”

The Louisiana State Patrol in conjunction with the FBI, New York Police Department, and Sho Industries of Japan as collaborated in forming the Grudge Squad. A unique unit of Police Officers dedicated to the arrests and subsequent dissolvent of the gang known only as the Dreadnoks. Working closely with their counterparts in Australia this team has produced results leading to seventeen arrests and fifteen convictions of known individuals associated with this gang. Yet it seems the Dreadnoks are only getting bigger, violent, and nastier. Each member of the Grudge Squad was hand picked for their special abilities or determination in the face of these overwhelming odds.

Colonel Rasher
Civil Air Defense – Retired Military

File name: Ellenborn, Rick
Primary Specialty: Helicopter pilot
Secondary Specialty: Pistol Marksmen Trainer
Birthplace: Toronto, California

Rasher is retired GI Joe. For a number of years he served in the PIT and was commissioned to Colonel as a result of his heroism during the battle with Cobra there. Shortly after he retired from the military to take up with the LST (Louisiana State Patrol) to better hunt down and capture his utmost enemy, Zartan. For Rasher’s greatest battle was not in a helicopter or a jet fighter but five miles under the ground when he faced the Dreadnok commander. The two had met when Rasher discovered that Zartan had been impersonating Ripcord, one of the Joes Rasher had personally trained to fly the tricky Sky Striker. Rasher was instrumental in the recognition of the impersonator. In the halls of the pit Zartan far outclassed the pilot and quickly dispatched Rasher leaving him with a scar and a concussion. Rasher now provides air support via a helicopter he has deemed SWORD for his unit.

“I’ll hunt that snake Zartan through any swamp he wants to hide in, because up here I am only limited by my fuel, I have plenty of bullets!”

Parts used

Captain Blast
Commander in Chief of the Grudge Squad

File name: Wishingtim, Dr. Seymour
Primary Specialty: Psychologist
Secondary Specialty: Minister of Baptist Church - retired
Birthplace: Paris, Texas

Captain Blast is a hard-nosed, never say die, man of honor with an esteemed work ethic. He never leaves a man behind, never leaves a job unfinished, and every one always feels good after talking with him. Growing up in a dysfunctional family Blast was rewarded a scholarship to Texas A & M but transferred to a local Christian College after listening to youth ministers of the Christian Faith. Seymour did not feel that his path lead fully with the church, and so he joined the Texas State Patrol after a few years on the Houston Police Force. His leadership skills eventually attracted the attention of the FBI where he was recruited and eventually was assigned to lead the Grudge Squad. Now he leads a team of the brightest civilian stars in the defense against the forces of Cobra.

“Hate to say it but the Dreadnoks are just bad people, maybe with some help they can come around.”

Lieutenant Footies
Bomb Deposal

File name: Cortez, Juan Manuel
Primary Specialty: Explosive Material Disposal Trainer
Secondary Specialty: HAM radio operator
Birthplace: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Footies may sound like a silly name for one such as Juan but if you ever met the man you would understand that he deserves it. Lt. Footies is the strangest guy that ever wore a badge. He reads Cosmo at strip clubs and treats the opera like a Professional Wrestling show and yet put him in front of your grandmother and he is the gentlest and most respectful person in the room. Many wonder on the squad if Footies simply spends too much time working on his radios and not enough time with real people. Then of course he may just need a whole lot of medication. Along with being able to communicate with just about anyone around the world who has a radio Footies can set a charge the size of a pin head and take down a seven inch thick steal reinforced door simply by calculating the weakest point on it. Or he can disarm advance explosives in minutes but is fonder of counter ordinance techniques. A unique man by all rights but always a strong member of the team.

“Um…a quote…what for?”

Ricochet
Sniper

File name: Auburn, Paul
Primary Specialty: Sniper
Secondary Specialty: Linguist – commanding twenty-seven different languages and forty-two dialects
Birthplace: Sisters, Oregon

Growing up in a small town in the outskirts of Oregon Ricochet learned a lot about shooting and the process of life and death. Little did he know that all the wandering and hunting he did growing up would lead to a career. Ricochet is a self trained Sniper and is one of the best in the field. Yet with his genius comes a certain degree of fault, he never takes a shot unless its absolutely correct and a guarantied perfect strike. Unless he is sighting in a new weapon he shoots very rarely and only when perfect conditions are met in the field. In his last deployment there were five targets he took four shots and took out all five subjects. When the chips are down and he is on the clock he is an expert that can make amazing shots that a common eye could never see. Some have described watching him work as almost mystical. When he is working he has the odd habit of mumbling in another language so this may add to this rumor.

“My past with a Dreadnok I will not state here I suppose I am here to get even!”

Parts used
Head - Harddrive with added pieces for sunglasses.
Chest – Mutt V1
Waist and Top Legs – Maverick V1
Bottom legs – Corps
Rifle – Chap Mei combination of two guns.

Robo Cop
Cyborg Police Officer

File name: Classified
Primary Specialty: Tactical Hostile Environment Offensive Unit
Secondary Specialty: Law Enforcement
Birthplace: Presumably Detroit, MI otherwise unknown

Robo Cop was a regular human cop in good standing with the Detroit Police Department when an accident happened. It is understood when he was a normal human officer a gang of thugs attacked him and in turn shot and beat him nearly to death. If it were not for the local Emergency Services the man who would become Robo Cop would have died. Yet through the miracle of modern medicine he survived. Only later while recovering to have a severe stroke with the onset of a flesh-eating virus. Saved once again only to fall into a coma and having no next of kin or contactable family this man lost his rights under Minnesota law and was taken off life support. Directly after, before actually dying, he became the property of OCP an American subsidiary of Sho Industries, and thus was made into the melding of machine and man that he is today. Since he has become a pinnacle of law enforcement and dramatically reduced the crime rate of Detroit and the State of Minnesota. With his super human strength and near limitless endurance he is renowned for a no-nonsense, often violent, approach to stopping crime. Recruited for the Grudge Squad on a more personal matter than his company would have like, he provides the serious muscle when the going gets tough. His wife has recently won a lawsuit against OCP and the state of Minnesota.

S.U.P.E.R. Cop (Superior Urban Police Enforcement Renovation)
Experimental Police Officer Weapons System

File name: Ackamonnom, Yoten
Primary Specialty: Tactical Reconnaissance
Secondary Specialty: Burglary/Street fighting
Birthplace: Hong Kong, China

Yoten was a renowned burglar and was fabulously wealthy when he got in over his head. He began working for the Yakuza when he fell into debt. They in turn made him attempt to break into the Japanese firm known as Sho Industries. Everything was operating smoothly until he was caught at the main office of Sho, and was forcibly taken and questioned. At the end of a lengthy conversation Yoten became indebted to the owner of Sho instead of being imprisoned for his crime. Throughout the next five years, working for both groups, Yoten began to understand the wrongs he had committed and in atonement for his past he volunteered for the Super Cop program. His first mission was one of personal honor and he brought to justice twenty of the Yakuza members. Now free of his debt to them, as they were jailed, he fully entered into the service of Sho. In America he has served in various police raids and investigations typically involving super human or powered suspects. Having been hospitalized by an encounter with the supervillain known as the Rhino Yoten has asked for a little less dangerous assignment until his suit design can be improved upon.

Ortiz

File name: Blunk, Manuel
Primary Specialty: Transportation
Secondary Specialty: Filmmaking / Surveillance

Ortiz was a poor child of a washed out fisherman. Being small and picked on his entire childhood made Ortiz grow up tough. At the age of seventeen he left home for New York City were he fell in with a street gang. Eventually after years of trial and torment he made it out when he created a film documentary about his gang. He received national news coverage, as the film ended with his gang getting shot down by a rival gang. Ortiz being the only one not killed or seriously wounded took it as a sign. He tried briefly at a career in journalism but simply could not stand on the sidelines and watch all the kids fall victim to various pitfalls of the street. So he joined a local police academy and was eventually recruited into the local department. Several reassignments later for hostility towards his coworkers he found himself in New Orleans. A chance encounter with a group of Dreadnoks Ortiz found himself wanting to join up with the Grudge Squad, a unit a friend of his was getting into. He polished his skills working in the New York Police Department and spent a number of years working in the District of Columbia. With as many raids as he has been on and giving the fact that on most of his assignments he was the entry man, many or his friends think that a rabbit’s foot is unlucky compared to Slam. Then for his free time he plays with volatile and poisonous chemicals! He joined the Grudge Squad on a dare from his commanding officer. Now he thinks he was tricked into it but is not willing to quit. A strong member of the Grudge Squad Slam always has Knock’s back in any given fire fight.

Entry-man

File name: Rodman, Ted
Primary Specialty: Demolitions / SWAT Tactics
Secondary Specialty: Computer Hacking
Birthplace: New Orleans, LA

Knock is the only civilian recruited into the Squad. A semiprofessional boxer Knock fell in with the Dreadnoks when they began extorting his boxing career through various threats. One night Knock found his sister beaten and near death when she recovered some months later she told him that she had been raped by two of the Dreadnoks mainly controlling Knock’s career. In a fit of rage and shame Knock tracked down and killed both of his sister’s attackers and promptly turned himself into the local police. Knock spent the next few years in prison where he picked up a new skill “hacking”. This is wear he first learned of the Grudge Squad, and after several attempts at communication with them he was finally heard when the Grudge Squad computers crashed. He eventually was pardoned for these crimes and his criminal recorded sealed. Now fully trained as a police officer he is the grit and nastiness of the team. While he is as smart as he is brutal he gets a rush out the thrill of kicking down a Dreadnok’s door and putting a gun in there face.

However Desmon fell victim to a strange occurrence days before he was to join the Squad himself. In a raid on the docks of New York Desmon fell into a vat of liquid that irradiated him with gamma ray particles. Though Desmon survived the accident he was forever changed. Being fully green skinned Desmon enjoys a level of invulnerability and while he can be harmed his skin is resistant to projectiles including low caliber bullets. love the first guy. looks awesome.

the rest are neat, and neat backstories, and neat concept. really fun stuff.

however, I'm not digging the non-custom guys. I just don't think the necessarily mesh with the others.

I like the work done in fleshing them out and the crisp paintwork; but there's a reason not many people use CORPS parts in their figs.

Robocop is out of scale with the rest... ever consider getting the smaller 3 3/4" one?

I agree that Captain Blast stands out like a sore thumb. I thought maybe it was just me but apparenly not. Being a complete figure and apart of my collection over all I just couldn't mod him. I would like to paint that figure in the gray, blue, and black if I should every get another. As for the Lt. Footies same thing there with the complete figure. However I think he fits in but for the "CORPS" painted on his chest.

Robo Cob is in scale - he is after all a big ole Android. While he normally works alone it may seem weird that he is in a group, how many Dreadnoks to these guys need to take down, hundreds? thousands?

Any takers on a critque of the SWORD?

The entire concept is born from Corps and Chap Mei having nice figures in so much as scuplting with lame or nonexsitant back stories.

Corps parts are hard to work. It can be done and at some point when I have the parts these guys will make the new mold transfer too. The RoboCop will be out of scale... he will be too small. ;P

Cool idea and very nicely executed. I especially like your work on the scar on Colonel Rasher's face.

So is it a in general dislike to the parts? Not a fan of Corps because of the stlye or your familiarity with there typical unworkablity?

They don't dye real well I will tell you that.

The robot was a pain. I had the idea from the Army Commericals with the robot exploding the car. Can you beleived I used playschool parts?

Thanks on the scar, painting, and story stuff.

Hmm, good solid stuff here, storywise, I think you meant Michigan instead of Minnesota, though, on robocop, but thats about it, critque wise, :)

I like all of it, the vehicles, the story, the figs, you've really got an army going here.

I'll second the vote that you need a dog unit, maybe a negotiator if you want to play up the police unit, but I'd go for some blueshirts, as well, well trained operatives you just don't all have names, ;)

You know, for strategic cannon fodder purposes, :)

Narc I think your right. F-ing geography man. Slaps forhead I could have had V8. I do have police fodder I just didn't picture them because just like you said, no back story or names. Well the names switch as those guys as they get blown to bits or chainsawed etc.

Thanks all for your posts.

Stay tuned for the Australian version of the Grudge Squad.

PB, i really enjoyed all these customs, and didn't have a problem with you sticking corps! or other lines in there at all -- i think all the figs and vehicles and storylines worked *really* well!

that being said, i kinda took issue with the title of your post -- this is supposed to be a toy site, and even though there are a few of us around who use bad words :shifty: i kinda took a negative outlook on your figs because you put it in the title of your thread...maybe that's just me...

btw, you misspelled 'douche'
