This is my take of an "unmasked" Wild Weasel.

The head is from an 80's imitation GI Joe figure. The body came straight from the parts bin.

It needs some touch-up painting and a thumb repair. I see Wild Weasel as being a bit frayed and gruff. The head, with its sloppy hair, really fit the bill. I added the five o'clock shadow to add to the look. The filecard notes that he has a sibilance caused by a mouth injury, so I made an appropriate facial wound. Geeky!

I thought about cutting the nozzle part of the helmet off and attaching it to the flight suit, but I can't bring myself to cut apart a Wild Weasel head. Maybe one day...

That's a pretty cool head for Wild Weasel. I like it.

Wonder where exactly it's from, beyond "some GIJoe ripoff".

Thanks.

Oddly, I can still remember buying the knock-off figures. They were sold in individually baggies, no cardbacks or packaging, at Walgreen's. They used the same bodies that Galoob used to make the A-Team figures- but I don't think they were produced by Galoob.

Very cool...Pretty sure I used that head as Scrap Iron...or at least one from the same line

I hope you follow through and fix or replace the broken thumb and touch up the straps...It'll look a ton better.

I know that head is pretty fat...so I dont know if it'd fit in a hollowed out WW helmet...but if you didn't want to try...HypnoHustler does a heck of a job...I had him do the Scrap Iron helmet for me...as well as a Wild Weasle

Why, yes, that is the same head!

I also used that same head to make a Storm Shadow "unmasked". I'll post it eventually.

Your figures look good. Is that a Buck Rodgers or Black Hole head for your Wild Weasel?

I also beleive they sell these heads at Rite Aid. They don't do well with dull coat.

Nice take on Wild Weasel.

I've been meaning to do my own unmaksed WW for the longest time. Another one of the many customs on my "to-do" list...

If you really want the head, but not wantint to mess it up, ther is an option. See about getting JFAK or someone to cast and slightly enlarge it for you. Then you would have one you could hollow out and not worry about ruining hte original.

Another idea is to get the Air Corps group and hollow out the guy with the full helmet. Its really soft material and hollows out real easy. http://www.smalljoes.com/images_lanard/ ... osed_l.jpg that figure there. I got a Aero Viper from Rasputin w/o a helmet and I put that helmet on him and it fits just fine after its hollowed out and you could then paint it red and black for a updated helmet. :)

Nice custom by the way.
