I didn't bother putting this in "critiques" because I didn't really do anything - this is more to share with you guys who might be thinking of doing something similar.

I picked up a "Torture chair" Han Solo yesterday. A while back, somebody mentioned that it'd make a good updated Brain Wave Scanner. I agreed, but after I started playing with it, I noticed that there was nothing to "scan brains", so I added a ST Tunnel Rat helmet because I thought it resembled the one used in issue #10 of the old Marvel run (where we first saw the BWS.)

So I think it works well enough - the thing is supposed to be an interrogation tool, right? So why not add a few implements of evil to do it right

Of course, I'm wondering why a torture device has a padded headrest though.....

Cool idea Chief! And your Dr. Venom makes the set complete. Just saw the Han at WM. May have to pick him up just for that purpose.
Thanks for the tip!

If one comes to KB I'll probably grab it. I saw a load of figures yesterday at Toys R Us but not that one. No G.I.Joe either, but they had the McVader, Yoda riding the weird creature, and several others. I grabbed the ones I really liked since it's never known what KB will get.

I could use something like that for my Resident Evil needs.

Thanks for the tips!

I bought a "learning chair" (battlefield earth) to use, but I was looking at this too. With your mods, this looks waaaay better.

SWEET!

Cool-ass idea, and a nice update to the brainwave scanner.

What I really dig is that you took a concept that could be hokey and made it really sinister and dark-- now the scanner looks like an instrument of torture to be feared rather than laughed at.

Excellent work, man.

AWESOME!

Not being familiar with the chair my questions are:

Did the hoses come with it?

If not how did you attatch them?

Is this a single carded Star Wars fig or do I need to look for a box or something.

Very interested in replicating this :)

VL - to answer your Q's -

Yep, the hoses came with the chair - I just cut them off the bottom (they run along the length of the back) and glued them to the helmet.

It's a single carded fig - and the Han is actually pretty decent articulation-wise, but he's got the 'wind-blown' hair and an untucked shirt like in the movie. Too bad because other than that, he'd be the best Bespin Han yet. But for $6, you get your own mini BrainWave scanner and some awesome SW fodder :P

And Jeff - you shouldn't type when you're drinking ;)
