Recently, I've had a problem with my Cross-Country v1 :crosscountry:, and early this year, my spare Sci-Fi v1 :scifi:. At some point when disassembling (or reassembling) the torso, the meat of the screwhole broke off from the rest of the figure's back. Unable to find time to buy another Cross-Country torso (or back), I decided to find a spare torso that both fits his head, and somewhat looks decent. Shockingly, my spare Sneak Peek's fills the bill :sneakpeek:. The Sneak Peek torso not only gives CC excellent head movement, but also does a good job of matching his hat. While I've had this temporary version of Cross-Country drive my Mean Dog, I think I'll still get more action out of the Battle Corps version (who co-pilots my RHINO).

Does anyone else have any good stories of temporary LBCs, a complete figure whose sole purpose is to borrow a non-original body part until the gravy boat comes in?
(for example, v1 wearing :gungho:'s bare arms)

When I was a kid, I broke the thumb off my V1 Snake Eyes - so he got Torpedo's arms and Torpedo got the Stinger Driver's arms until SE V2 came out.

Then I'd use my Flash head (Flash was destroyed in a freak bike accdient) for my 82-83 "unmasked" figs: Torpedo, SE (before we found out SE was blonde), etc. I'd just rotate him through the torsos depding on my needs for the day. Eventually, Flash ended up on Breaker's body and stayed there - I always preferred the clean-shaven comic book look for Breaker anyway.

Cool. I broke the right fingers (not thumb) off of my straight-armed Snake-Eyes v1. (Note to others: SE v1 was not meant to wield a Python Viper's assault rifle!) For the longest, I had to use arms from a Mace bought to intentionally be parts fodder. Before that, I used a (not so) permanent marker to blacken a spare Astro-Viper's right arm.
I also bought SE v3 :snakeeyes3: to be used as his replacement, but found that the '89 arms didn't quite do the 82 version justice. Plus the '89 version as-was (minus his giant knives) seemed cooler at the time.

My Mutt has to use the Slaughter's Marauders version's lower body with the v1's upper body while I locate either a complete v1 Mutt or gather up all his gear and find a lower body.
Tollbooth uses a beat-up Original 13 lower body since I don't have his actual lower body (I just got the upper body in a parts lot).

When I got my v2 Snake-Eyes I broke both thumbs off. I had an extra v1 Flint, so I switched the arms.

It wasn't until earlier this year when I purchased two v2 Snake-Eyes figures from another board member that I was able to replace the arms. As a matter of fact, I had never seen any other v2 Snake-Eyes anywhere in all the years since the figure originally came out in the stores.

If you're interested, I too could use 2 SE v2 arms. I lucked out and got mine in a thrift store "grab bag". Needing a :snakeeyes2: torso for a custom, I disassembled him temporarily for a test fitting. I learned that mine was in such poor shape on the inside, that only the legs and t-bar are in unbroken condition. (I'm still lost as to why the right side of his neck ball is missing a plug, or why the rounded neck trough on the inside of the chest is cracked.)
I didn't learn about the neck ball until I thought of swapping the visored head in place of Winter Ops. SE's v4 head.

I put the BC Cross Country head on the BC Frostbite body. The whole ensemble works, at least I think so.

Street Fighter Ken's legs look much better as Jinx bottoms, giving her a much better "ninja" look.

Then there is the classic Skidmark/Windmill switcheroo.

BC Grunt can get dignity if you give him Psycheout V1's BDUs. Give his bottoms to Tracker, along with Scoops arms and Tracker seems a little less on holiday.

The HOF SnakeEyes looks so much better with BC Shockwave's arms and legs. Just keep the torso, which wraps the whole look fabulously.

BC Spirit's look can be improved exponentially if you give him the body from the Locust(rename) pilot, Wild Bill. His look almost favors my favorite Tim Truman comics, Scout: War Shaman.

I have both Windmill (in craptacularly crotchless shape) and Skidmark. I've often wondered if both's bright green and orange parts used the same molds.
The same goes for Dee-Jay and Countdown, who both share a white/green drab/teal color scheme. Incidentally, I was able to use these two as the basis for an "original toy" project in 6th grade (I swapped the parts, and the colors actually matched), as well as a "how to repair a G.I. Joe figure" project in my college Technical Writing (instructions writing unit) class.
