Saw that at TRU yesterday -- and although a little lacking in detail, it's a great Joe-scaled chopper. I had the BBI Apache, and it was a work of art - but because it was actually 1:18 scale, it was TOO big to work with the Joes. This one, though slightly undersized, seems perfect - and an excellent update to the Dragonfly. It's about the same length as the Blackhawk, so that works really well.

Passed on it because of the $30 price tag, though. If I find it somewhere for $20 or less, I'll likely jump on it despite my considerable downsizing efforts with my collection - this thing is that cool. Just not $30 cool at this time.

give it a year and it will be at $9 on JCPenny.com. For real. I have 2 Blackhawks and 2 of the True Heroes Rocket Trucks, all for $9 a pop.

I loved that Penny sale! Got a Buggy for $5 & the Blackhawk. However JCPenny will have it only if the Apache is PTE and not Motomax or some other company. JCPenny doesn't get True Heroes. I think its a TRU house "brand" where they collect a bunch of toys from different manufacturers under one label. TRU should have some coupons or have it on sale later in the spring. (I hope)

That rocket trailer truck wasn't PTE and JCPenny's had it. ;-)

So why don't they have the rest of the line? I'd love an F22 for $9.99.

Yeah, I got 2 at 9.99 each, while TRU still had them on the shelf for more than $40. Just checked the box though - and yes the name "True Heroes" is the TRU name, but the exact same toy goes to JCP under the name "Soldier Force". Nothing different but the box...

and the price.

lol

Well then they won't get it because Soldier Force is Chap Mei. This Apache is definitely not from Chap Mei & neither is the F-22.
It really annoys me that those are $29.99 when the F-22 started out at $20.99 when it came out.

I think we need a flow chart. It looks like this phantom TRU "True Heroes" line has some items made by chap mei, and some items made in a PTE format (like the Blackhawk?).

JC Penny sells PTE without a fake name involved, and then they sell Chap Mei stuff as Soldier Force?

I'm asking, not telling. Bigger point is, there's some definite in-breeding between these lines, and I don't think we can necessarily say it will or won't.

Yeah TRU gets certain companies to make items for their brand. It is kind of like generic food.
Unfortunately TRU have dropped M&C Toys(PTE) from the list since renaming from "Elite Operations" to "True Heroes".
It really looks like the same company that makes the Apache also makes the F-22 because of those aweful figures.

Does anyone have the UPC code for this? If somebody finds it let me know. I would like to purchase a couple of these.
