Remember that Geraldo Mystery of Al Capone's Vault special? I don't know why I just thought of that....

Nice crane, I guess, at least the actual crane part. The base looks kinda junky. Kind of a specialized piece to call it a "mother of all" anything. I'm sure there are some people out there with construction-themed displays (I'm thinking of that diorama submission from Joecon a few years back), but I don't know how useful it would be to most people.

I think in the toy world "bootleg" is interchangeable with knock-off or cheap as toy. Any way for 15 buck this thing is pretty cool you could expect to pay twice that to get something similar. Cranes are cool they can be part of just about any dio. I'd use it for part of a shipyard or part of a city construction. This is definitely a K-mart toy, I've seen it there before and its on the web-site. They have a lot of decent knock-offs.

It's neat, but it's not a bootleg. A bootleg is a non-sanctioned reproduction of something produced by another company, EX: the oversized flimsy "Transformers" at Big Lots. It'd make a nice dio piece, but it certainly doesn't trump Galactus for Toy of the Year...

Clearly whether or not it's a bootleg is controversial...
Anyone remember that Cobra Island construction site dio at the Con a few years back? This'd look real good in something like that. Or a Left 4 Dead dio.

This crane looks like you can use it to supply the Mobile Command Center, the General Mobile Headquarters, and even the Defiant Space Shuttle Complex.

I have to admit, seeing that crane, I see great potential in the parts. In fact, it has given me an idea if I can find something similar. The colour and quality of the plastic reminds me very much of some toys that showed up in cheap stores here in the UK several years ago

Nice and all, but this is not a bootleg, but merely a cheap toy available from K-Mart, it's cool in the aspect for construction or dio purposes, i saw these at Christmas time, cool for a little kid, might be useful with Joes/Cobras, but not my brand of beer.

I'm really glad you shared it. Its a great piece to modify for cool dios.

As so many have said, its not a bootleg, so while its an exciting piece, the hype was mis-leading. Which is a shame cause had you posted "coming soon, pics of an awesome dio piece" then this thread would be all kudos instead of an invitation for cheap shots.
