I think I got goosebumps when they unfurled the COBRA banners over the Whitehouse.

Best part, right there.

Am not going to judge this movie based on the trailer. Am happy to see some of the sneak peeks which make me definitely look forward to seeing it.

I really enjoyed some of the clips. Got to admit seeing SE being treated like Hannibal Lecter was a nice touch. LOL.

Am hopeful they have a preview screening at the con.

Honestly, my only gripe is that it looks like it's going to be another "We've got to get the group (back) together!" plot, which I'm entirely sick of in popcorn flicks.

It's either the introduction plot, getting the group together, or something happens in the first act of a sequel and we have to sit through another introduction plot as they get the group BACK together. I'm not saying it can't be done well, but it's a cliche I'm really tired of.

But the FEEL of the trailer really has me intrigued. I'm a Pro-Cobra fanboy, and the combination of that music with the fascist imagery of black and red flags being flown over the White House is EXACTLY what I've always wished for in a GI Joe movie but never thought I'd see.

Bring on the toys!

I think that was supposed to be Cobra Commander being brought before the President...Zartan I mean... Someone on another board thought it was CC on the water moccasin next to SE but its CC.

I'm really hoping we get a tag at the end of the movie that says "and don't worry kids, Duke is okay" like in the animated movie. That would be awesome!!!

ronin was talking about on the airplane when SE is collared, cuffed, and enclosed in a cage after the president says the Joes are traiters.

I didn't catch Blindmaster in the trailer until I saw the stills and saw him standing on the far left. I seriously thought that was a tree. LOL.

I don't remember anything close to this much positive buzz at any point before ROC. Whether it was casting, or the cliche black suits, or nanomites, or whatever, ROC just felt off, even in concept. For me personally, no part of the build up or even the movie itself left me feeling as good about it as this trailer does for the new movie. With the seven nation army music being played that way, it actually gave me a similar vibe as when I first saw the Watchmen trailer. Many people didn't like how that movie actually unfolded, but I loved it, so I make the comparison favorably.

Anyway, as for the personality, it really seemed like the ROC cast were there against their will and mailed in the performance, though the same could be said of the writers, in fairness. You don't get that feeling here. The Rock knows how to sell it, and makes it easier to suspend the disbelief for this kind of action. Plus, Dennis Quaid was just miscast before. In contrast, that 10 second scene from Willis, even if he doesn't have another single line, nails it.

In short, and judging exclusively by "tone" this seems to me like it's capable of being a classic action movie, while ROC seemed like a Sy-Fy weekly feature.

least, that's what I'm hoping for.

So this is going to be a G. I. Joe movie... without a G. I. Joe team.... I can hardly contain my excitement

Add to that the heavy ninja action, which I was sick to death of by the end of the comics run, and I have pretty much lost any enthusiasm (not that I had too much to begin with, given the last atrocity they inflicted on the public in the name of Joe).

The only thing I am hoping from this movie is some kick-ass toys. Yes, I was in that minority of collectors who thought the movie toys from last time around were awesome! I'm sick, I know....

I'm quoting this for thruth. This is exactly how I feel. It's nice to have such a positive response and optimism to a GI Joe movie. It's a nice change from all the [LASER BLAST] that came with RoC.

All night.

And now all day. Maybe watching the trailer 8 times wasn't the best idea....
