One small thought as I read through this. I think the Renegades Duke torso/arm combos should be replaced by Law torso/arm combos. At least if I'm recalling correctly, Ren Duke has that weird belt groove which breaks up the t-shirt look, and Law's is much more in line with what you're going for.

This was a fun read and a neat idea. I always enjoy looking at 'pen and paper' customs like this. I wouldn't mind Hasbro getting away from the military concept as long as they found a way to keep sneaking in classic ARAH characters, like you do here with Crystal Ball and Raptor and so on. I also like how you have so much custom fodder sprinkled throughout.

I agree, but I wouldn't use the Law upper arms at least because they'll have the MP arm band. The Amazon exclusive Renegades Duke used the Law arms and I think they look rather funny with that arm band painted to match the shirt as if it wasn't there.

Cool idea, unfortunately it's Hasbro, the first wave would be repaints with
Either hard to pose legs, or hands that won't hold weapons.
Wave two would only have two figures.
Wave three would have ten of the greatest figures ever made,
But would get canceled for G.I.Joe playhouse Heros.

OK, switch out the Renegade Duke torso for Renegades Law in all descriptions and it flows better :)

I had so many ideas for this line I bet I could even do a third year of product with very little effort :)

FYI, the Law torso is the same mold as the RoC Hawk torso. Duke's comes from RoC PP Snake Eyes.

These seem great! I like the adventure team idea as well. It is fresh and will open up the line to allot if younger folks.

So I got my Club order yesterday. I'd ordered some stuff for me and then for my GF's son, the Land Adventurer with ATV. I gave it to him last night, letting him open the box and take the toys out of it, and he was in love with the yellow ATV and the figure. Then he asked, "So who does he fight? Who's his bad guy?" I explained that they don't really have bad guys for that line, since it was just a 4-shot (and since I know I won't be getting him the sold-out set), then told him that they were more adventurers, going around exploring and stuff. He really liked that and wanted to know if there were others he could get. He also insisted he had to keep the box it came in and I carefully cut the bubble off the card so he could hang the card up in his room because he liked the art.
To me, that shows that an AT style relaunch could really go over with the kids. Sure, a single ten year old may be atypical, but I doubt it. Put some brightly colored, but not flashy, vehicles out there, some heroes to explore the world and some villains for them to try to beat, much like has been carefully crafted in this thread, and I could see it re-invigorating the line.

Heh, yeah. I think I was just as excited as he was, once he started playing with it. I told his mom I have a feeling he'll be getting the air and sea sets for Christmas. I think it also shows that even lame vehicles (to us) can have a lot of appeal. The fact that it opened up to store the crates it came with just amazed him. He also liked that he could store all the gear that came with the ATV and the figure in it. When it was the sound attack thing with the luge, it was silly. Now that it's an adventurer's ATV with storage, it's neat.
They could go back and re-release most of the JvC/Spy Troops mini vehicles for a line like this, in the right colors that have some cohesion across the line, and really set the brand without even spending anything in tooling.

I'm not gonna lie, I was JUST talking about how I thought it was neat. :shifty:

Heh, I believe you. I liked several of those vehicles from that era, just not as released. Take the Treadfire. Release it in either AT yellow, or maybe black with purple highlights for the bad guys, and I think it could be a lot of fun. The colors back then were what turned me off of a lot of the vehicles. The FANG III/Missile Storm would also be great in AT yellow, and makes a pretty good replacement for the original AT helicopter without stepping on the Club with their FANG release.

Spectre, you've got lots of cool ideas here! I guess great minds think alike, because there is another member on this board (not me) who had a similar Adventure Team pitch for the modern construction figures and came up with some fantastic designs. Hopefully that indicates good potential for taking the line in that direction.

As a kid, I LOVED anything that made the figure more self-sufficient. If you could gas up a vehicle, awesome. If you could carry extra gas with you, better. Cargo hold? The best! Needless to say, Starcom obsessed me as long as I could find the vehicles since they did this the best, but I was always looking out for a vehicle that I could select what the figure was going to take out into the wild and use.
