After 7 years, Character Options have finally realised that 1:18 scale is the most widely bought, rather than the 1:15 scale they have been using:

http://merchandise.thedoctorwhosite.co. ... s-in-2013/

No word on articualtion, and the price point will probably be typically British: £8.99 ($13.50). We are getting Daleks, but no word on which type. I don't care as long as they are not the bumper car style, but the Nu-Series Daleks from 2005 onwards have recently been prominent. I think that the new type Cybermen are pretty inevitable. I am really hoping for Classic Daleks and Cybermen. One thing at least, we will be getting civilian figures.

They have said that they will not be doing existing characters or Classic series figures, but IMO they are just testing the waters. The 5 inch range is completely dead in the water over here. Sales are dreadful and figures are pegwarming.

I hope we'll get the classic incarnations of the Doctor and a Tardis control playset.

The 50th Anniversary is looming in November next year, so I am hoping for a set of Classic Doctors, or maybe 1 through 12. Actually the same date as the 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination.

I wouldn't bet too hard on that. I am still planning some Cyber customs from the very early episodes. Even if they do some Classics, I doubt it will be before November 2013. We may get the Cybus Cybermen before that. PIctures should be coming early next year. Probably at London Toy Fair in January, for release with the rest of Season 7.

Awesome. I'll be looking forward to seeing images of these. Honestly, I'd be OK with figures from pretty much any era of the series: I've enjoyed the modern episodes that I've seen (sadly, not that many), and would like figures of any of the last three doctors; and, I'd be excited about figures from the classic series as well if they were produced down the road. I'm still a big fan of my Dapol figures and Tardis (that I was lucky enough to get on a trip to England in the early '90's), but it would be nice to get some updated, and hopefully less fragile, versions.

I require fourth and tenth Doctors, as well as Cybermen and possibly a K-9.

Very promising ideed. I expect to get a fair amount of bashable fodder at least. Unless they surprise in the way the Hobbit figs do, I would doubt they'd be completely what I'd want right out of the package. Luckily I have some of Asphalt's Doctor heads too, so this could be cool.

Dude, with your mastery of styrene and fix-it sculpt, I seriously doubt a toy company could make a better K-9 than you could...

I'll wait to see what they offer and how available it will be in the US. If old school Daleks, any kind of Cyberman, and/ or a Multi Doctor set see release, it may just be worth it to me to import them. I've been a Whovian ever since seeing The Deadly Assassin in the early 80s.

I remember spending a boring Saturday afternoon when I was a kid watching Tom Baker as the Doctor.

Dr Who seems to have a devoted following. I just don't get it.

I will check out any pics of the figures to see how they are done.

Give me a good, solid Ninth Doctor figure in this scale and I'll be happy.
