Given the latest trend toward making "Ultimate" versions of Joes, who do you think still needs the treatment? By my count, there aren't many figures pre-1988 that haven't been hit out of the park by Hasbro.

Here's my short-list:

Flint -- 30th Concept Vault version will do.
Zartan -- Same story. The POC version shown in the Vault would do nicely as an Ultimate.
Scarlett -- New sculpt based on 1982 look, like the Ultimate Cobra Commander. This is a ground-up sculpt.
Gung Ho -- Same story as Scarlett. Resolute RB torso/arms with new hands, head, vest and different legs would do nicely. Removable hat a must for Sunbow-style bald-headed marine action.
Duke -- Desert POC Duke is so close. But an Ultimate 1984 Duke would be really boss. This would be easy to do with the new Hit and Run/Mouse/Flint arms.
Roadblock -- A vintage-style repaint of the Ultimate Movie Roadblock with a more Sunbow head would do nicely.
Falcon -- Hasbro definitely has the parts for this. Slaughter's Marauders head/torso/beret/scarf, 25th webgear, Footloose arms, Retaliation 3 pack Firefly legs. Bam. Perfect Falcon.
Torch -- His 25th version looks pretty lame compared to the POC/30th stuff. It would probably be pretty easy to kitbash him cheaply.

Not a lot of Cobras on here since the main troops have all been done very well. I think there's room for improvement on Destro and Major Bludd. There's also room for improvement on Leatherneck and Spirit. Neither of which have a perfect vintage style figure.

But overall, I think Hasbro's getting down to a pretty complete set of perfect vintage upgrades. Only Scarlett in the above list would require lots of new tooling. I think they could probably get this done with a seven pack or two. Thoughts?

POC Dusty was awesome in my opinion, but I would love to see another all out version titled "Ultimate Dusty". Big surprise coming from me I guess.

Gung Ho would have to lose the Village People design.
Scarlett? That 80s VHS workout design would also have to be thrown away.

I think the 3-pack firefly with the Ultimate Firefly's weapon set would be a true "Ultimate" Firefly. The current Ultimate Firefly strikes me as some sort of Nazi Commando.
I agree with the concept vault Flint, although I'd also add the resolute shot-shell wristband and vest as accessories.
I'd like to see an urban-camo Stormshadow based on Renegades, but with 3/4 sleeves with the arashikage tatoo
I'd like to see a Side-Show inspired Duke and Falcon too. Although I'd go with the Concept vault Flint Torso, and SE54 legs.
We could use an Ultimate Scrap-Iron, I've seen awesome customs based off of Money-Bags Destro.
I'd also like to see an infantry-trooper version of an Iron Grenadier based on the shock-trooper torso with PoC Firefly arms and legs. The PoC IG struck me as a heavy weapons trooper, and the black IGs seem like they're in dress uniforms.

I disagree on Flint. To be truly ultimate, he would need short sleeves. Maybe use the Kwinn/Footloose arms?

I'd definitely love to see Leatherneck given the "ultimate" treatment since the 25th figure and its ROC repaint both suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.

Hasbro also needs to get off its butt and give us a proper 88-style Storm Shadow with all the proper bells and whistles. No "eh, close enough", I want the proper baggy sleeves and the proper pouch belt and the proper shinguards!

The single-carded Ultimate Firefly is intended to be an ultimate movie-accurate Firefly (unlike the vastly different Battle Luge Firefly with neutered articulation), much like the line's Ultimate Duke, Ultimate Flint and Ultimate Roadblock.

Ahh. He still looks like a Nazi commando.

I'm with you both on 88 Storm Shadow. I'd love to see 89 Stalker, too...

Good ideas, all!

We could also use Ultimate/PoC versions of members of the original 13 that haven't had it like Grunt, Zap, Short Fuse, Flash, Rock N Roll, Steeler, Clutch & Grand Slam.

If they can't get them into the mianline, sneak some easy kitbashes into the dollar store range:

The Ultimate Nightcreeper, just take the concept case and give him all the gear he needs.

Snow Serpent from the case, uses the unused Pursuit of Cobra Snow Boarding Duke body. Plus it looked pretty badass.

Tele-Viper (only had the Flight-pod which used the 25th Viper body, Python Patrol Club set and the RoC movie version).

I would say that Concept case Eel, but the nightlanding-craft Eel figure though different is rather tasty. Plus the 25th Eel is still rather excellent.

Nope. If they're going to do another Nightcreeper, it needs a newer better head, and a new take on the chestgear that isn't made to fit the stubby 25th Snake-Eyes torso and ends up sitting too high on practically every other torso. Also bring back the barbed sword. And paint it up like the Urban Strike Force Night Creeper.

Either that or do a brand new one based on the Ninja Force Night Creeper, complete with feathered cloak.

Aw, heck yeah! And they would have to kit him with as much gear as POC Snowjob got. All new, no rehashes.
