By itself, the Whale is great toy/playset, but it always looks out of place next to any other Hasbro watercraft because it's so honkin' huge. Even as a kid, I noticed it made the Tactical Battle Platform look silly. I'd actually be more stoked about getting a Devilfish with a more muted color-scheme. I wouldn't mind an updated APC with a little more weaponary and armored canopy :-)

See, I'm in the opposite camp. I'd love to see them go bigger with the WHALE and build out both the bridge and the below-decks area. For the latter, I'd love to see more detailed stations and storage with a larger removable hull section for play/display value.

To me it should be the Millenium Falcon of the Joe line.

And the FLAGG should be the Death Star.

I also like the size of the WHALE. I think the real military has one that can load like 12 HUMMV's on its deck. Thats pretty big. Not that the Joe version should fit 12 VAMPs, but it should be a pretty good size.

Be sweet if it was at least big enough to hold 1 Vamp though... Heck I'd even settle for a RAM

It might happen eventually. A year ago I would have told you that you were crazy if you'd told me we were getting a brand new Metroplex who was taller than Fort Max with ARTICULATED EYEBALLS. If interest in the GIJoe brand can continue to climb and eventually reach the level of Transformers success, we'll probably start seeing larger Joe items too.

I would love a shot at the WHALE. I could rattle off a list of a dozen vehicles I'd like to see that will never get remade. I'd actually like another crack at the Rattler as lack of funds forced me to skip the '08 release.

Just read Matt Reilly's Ice Station...the Hovercraft he describes sounds JUST LIKE the Whale though.. NOTHING like the LCAC's he calls them..

check out the pic and tell me thats not NEARLY a WHALE more than the LCAC.. :lol:

After seeing the opening sequence from 'Die Another Day', I've wanted to build that hovercraft for the JOEs. Actually, the Russian Navy uses a lot of hovercraft, so that means I need one for my Oktober Guard character too...
