Good information, and the glamour girls apparently have nice guitars too :) You're right though, got my hands full at the moment, but that car has potential.

There is enough to work with out there to get started but it is alot of modifying to do.

The Glamour Girls car is not a perfect match but fits Joes great and should be close enough for Thunderwing. I picked mine (havent even started on it yet) for about $15 BIN so they can be acquired pretty cheap

I do not know the names of alot of the vehicles but there are lots of good vehicles to use.

I plan on using an Iron Man vehicle to make the Black Venom tanker truck.

The A-Team Corvette should work for the 80's Corvette vehicle.

The motorcycle vehicles should be easy enough to make look right with existing parts. I plan on cutting and hacking on a few different corps cycles to put together a couple of motorcycles.

I think that a couple of years ago that Iron man had an Indy Race car that should work for the Indy car vehicle.

I know that there are other vehicles that will work but do not know the names or toy lines from them but have seen them, a big rig, 57 chevy.

But you look like you have your hands full for a while just on the figures LOL

Yeah, The Iron Man Indy car just dawned on me while I was making that post. So I need to get one of those. That Mask vehicle would actually be easy to make.

When I get done with the modern Thunderhawk I am going to start cutting up the Glamour Gals car but the Thunderhawks have A LOT of moving parts to make and it is slow going.

As I said I also have plans on making that Black Venom gas tanker. Using the Iron man 6 wheeled vehicle it will be pretty simple because it already has one of the hinges and it is just two simple hinges.

I have a battery operated Bronco, or blazer body that I am going to use for that one where the back pops up but I am still trying to figure out how I am going to make it lift and rotate.

I am going to use a Vamp to make the orange CJ jeep. It will not be original but will be a cool cross over.

Maybe you've got some tips for something else I wanted to do, I got a 1:24 scale Porsche I want to use it for Gloria Baker's Shark. It's a plastic model kit with opening doors and hood. I know the manta has similar mechanisms, but as I look at it closely, the manta parts don't seem to work for the shark, the back wings are straight and the shark's are smaller and seem to tilt down (also the pivot point for the manta wheels/wings is too long to fit on the Porsche model). The front manta wheels flip around and the wings are centered in the wheels, the shark's wheels flip down and the wings extend out from above the wheel. Also the hood fins and back fins.

I will have to look and familiarize myself with the vehicle and will get back to you.

OK I know I saw the car you are referring to the other day but I can not find a pic right now. If you get a chance post a link to one. Thanks

Looking through Ebay Mask vehicles I keep finding more I can do though. LOL

Here's the model I have:

Here's what I want to do (but disregard the big engine thing on the hood in the second pic, that was a special device they put on in one episode):

I have the model car, molded in white. Need to figure out how to do the transformations. Front wheels fold downward and fins come out from above. Rear wheels swing out with wings. Hood has two pop up fins and the rear has two fins that come out.

One trick I do is watch the thrift stores for scrap transformers. They often have joints that can be used.

The pics of the cartoon help but really need a picture of the original mask toy so I can get an idea of how they did it..

Just preliminary it looks like your best bet is going to be to use Transformer parts. I know they sell joints like this too but I do not know where, plus I rarely have more then $10 in parts in a custom vehicle and those joints would likely run past that real quick.

Going to go find a pic of the toy

Gotcha, actually they never did this vehicle as a toy even though it was featured in the cartoon. A guy overseas had done a couple of these in 1:24 (like my model kit) and sold them for like 500 dollars. I'm not looking to sell it, just looking to have one. Good idea on the transformers parts, they would be in plastic too which should be easier to work with.

Here's a youtube of it transforming: (it happens to be the episode where they put that big launcher thing on the hood that normally doesn't go there) The shark is seen at 51 seconds into it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iCYNVult9g

For a better hold I will use plumbing cement on harder plastics like vehicles and transformers are made out of. You have to be careful on model plastic though or you will melt it too much. For non plastic I use jewelry cement that is made for non porous materials.
